My (free) Dropbox account appears to have lost its extra referral space.

Question or Issue
I was a very early adopter and recommended Dropbox to many others, earning the maximum (I believe) storage space through my efforts. I have a number of not-for-profit files on the system, which are now under threat because Dropbox is now saying I only have a 2GB allowance. This came about after I uploaded some files on a temporary basis and hit my maximum storage space. This was quickly addressed, but I seem to have lost the space that I previously enjoyed, having earned it via referrals. I need to know whether or not it is recoverable, as I will have to make other arrangements for my not-for-profit activities if it isn't recoverable.

Dropbox doesnt remove storage unless you havent used it in a long time (12 months) at which your account is reset.
When was the last time you used it? What is http://www.dropbox.com/events showing?
Also what about http://www.dropbox.com/account/plan ?

I use Dropbox almost daily and always have, although only in concentrated areas (many of the files and folders may not get looked at regularly). The Plan says what I expected, which is that I am using 10 of 19 GB (having deleted a lot of files yesterday in a panic). My issue is that Dropbox is sending me messages about only having 2GB and saying it is not synchronising anything as a result.

Thanks for the visual, t3ole! Can you also send me a full screenshot of one of the messages you received from Dropbox, stating that you’ve gone over-quota?

Has syncing actually stopped? Have you tested it by adding or changing a file in your local Dropbox folder to see if it syncs? Also, did you receive this email at the same address that you see on this page?

Apologies for the delay. It does appear to be syncing. The email was definitely received at the same email address.

Those emails from Dropbox are still coming!

Hi again, t3ole. Can you please compare the email address you receive those emails to with the one you see here? Are they the exact same?
Please keep in mind that even one additional dot ( . ) in one of the emails means that they’re different and that they’re connected to two different Dropbox accounts.

The emails from Dropbox arrive in the same mailbox as notifications from this forum, and that is the same email address under which I hold the only Dropbox account that I have ever had.

Thanks for double checking, t3ole. Please have a look at your email address’s inbox, when you get the chance, and reply back to me. I just opened a ticket for you, so that we can check this internally.
