No additional space on Business Advanced anymore.
Dear community,
I'm here to advice that the support have been denying us additional space for two weeks, first telling us that there was a momentary problem, then that we had made a request before the 7 days, then again (after waiting 7 days) that there is a problem which however is not written by Nowhere.
We're really worried about that because they don't give us any timelines and the fact that the problem doesn't exist on the dropbox status page and that nobody else talks about it seems a bit suspicious.
I don't like writing these posts but we are really worried don't you think? Are any of you having similar problems? do they only have it with us?

I just wanted to post here what I have been able to find out thus far, in the event that it could help another IT administrator who is having the same issue connecting with someone at Dropbox that can offer more than wait and see in November. I spent a good amount of time of the past week trying to get a firm answer on what will be coming and...there is not one to be had, even at the corporate level. That being said, there are two major options being explored, at least from what I was able to find with my contacts with Dropbox. Once the 1- and 5-year marks are hit, based on your storage consumption levels per license, you will be given two options:
- You will be able to "negotiate" a rate at which the bulk of your data will be stored, this means anything past the 5TB per license will be assessed a "negotiated" fee per month. The negotiated rate will be based VERY closely to the current rate of $10/TB/month but will vary based on the age of the account, number of seats, and amount of usage.
- There will be a "negotiated" period where your data will be retained at a slightly elevated cost, this option is really to help those who are using the service and want to migrate to another provider. The cost will again be dependent on the above factors and will not be indefinite. There are talks of this being read-only, just as Google has recently done, but this is not a firm decision.
This in mind, I will suggest to all the actual businesses out there, which are using this service, to consider very carefully your IT mix and see if a possible increase is going to hit your company in a way that is unacceptable with your financial situation or is incongruent with your goals. While I cannot tell you what "negotiated" will be for you, I can tell you for a majority of those I consult with it will not be in their interest to keep using Dropbox. However, only you will be able to make that determination when the time comes.
On a side note, if you have a large number of users on a single account, we are talking 50 or more, you might want to consider the enterprise solutions, however, they are also scrutinizing new groups coming in as well. The larger you group and the lower your estimated use per seat is, the less hoops you will have to jump through, but again, this is all going to be up to you as to what you feel is an acceptable price for what Dropbox has to offer.
This is all that I have been able to garner from Dropbox at this time, however, it is enough for me and those I consult with to make decisions for our particular use cases going forward.

Hi,
Today I requested a refund from dropbox.
I have decided to go back to google workspace. Where I have been upgraded to 15TB pool/user. and upgrade 5TB pool/user after 90 days.
I finished the NAS storage system, and used google workspace.I don't have any reason to stay at Dropbox. Where I spend too much time coding the API to store my data, the server to run the code to transfer the data. (Over 180TB)
I stayed because I expected them to provide at least 35 TB pool/user. But that did not happen.
Goodbye everyone, I'll go first. - jonsno3 years agoExplorer | Level 4
What happens if someone who has more than 35 TB/license brings the usage to under that limit. For e.g. if someone has 500 TB of data with 3 users but they delete 400 TB of that. Now there is only 100 TB left which is under the 35x3 = 105TB of limit. Even though the account is provisioned for 500TB will they be able to keep 100TB for 5 years at the current price?

cgi_ltd hello , be careful the speed with box.com is very bad, I don't know if it comes from rclone and chunker, but people are starting to complain, the upload speed is much better on dropbox

it's real, until November, after that, we'll have to see because dropbox must contact us to find out what will happen next

DBXCommunityHello, it is not quite true that you can still request more storage. The storage increase has been locked to 1TB per running 30 day period, as chat support has told me. I was given 1TB extra on the 12th August, and all I am told is I can only have 1 more TB on the 12th September. Is that right or should support be giving me the space I am requesting?
- cgi_ltd3 years agoCollaborator | Level 10Unfortunately, the Dropbox Advanced plan with *as much storage as needed* is no longer offered, it had been changed to a minimum of a 3 user account with 5TB/each giving the team 15TB total to use. You can purchase additonal data as needed on that plan. The only other provider left with unlimited data is Box.com , but due to each plans seperate data limits, you would have to setup rclone and use chunker. Or, if your installing the client on each users PC, you would have to pick a plan that has a high enough single storage limit for your biggest files. Once the app is installed on the clients PC's, it essentially works the same as DB.

Hello community,
I have been a Dropbox user for the past 2+ years. Initially I had the family plan. Now I decided to upgrade the service to Advanced edition as suggested by Dropbox support team.
Before I purchased, I mentioned to Dropbox that I needed about 80TB indefinitely for the lifetime of membership(NOT 80TB/year). I was told Dropbox will increase the storage as I use. Based on it, I went ahead to purchase the Advanced plan with 5 user licenses. 3 weeks later as I was uploading the files to my team, I was notified the storage is full and need to contact Dropbox to increase it!! When contacted the support, I was told I have to wait until Sept 18th 2023 to add just 1TB. In addition I was also told only 1TB/month allowed!!
I purchased Dropbox advanced based on dropbox support teams information. I told them what exactly needed before the purchase. And after the purchase I spent tons of time setting up the Dropbox, Teaching my team how to use, Upgraded my backend so the data is current and accurate to Dropbox, Uploaded about 25TB content over 2 weeks, also upgraded the internet to support faster upload and downloads; Only to know, they won't give me anymore space!!
I tried to reach out to the CEO of Dropbox, via FaceBook messenger, Email and LinkedIn. But there is no response what so ever!! Their support has no escalation to resolve a matter!! No matter how many times you tried to explain your issue, each time I get exact scripted message as a reply!!
I feel, lost, betrayed and facing challenges financially and mentally to find answers and to run my business!!
So, are you guys facing the same issue recently? What would you guys do? I am seeking help to rectify this issue! Thank you!

DBXCommunity , unfortunately, the questions I ask myself concern the November change
- Eldon McGuinness3 years agoCollaborator | Level 9Out of curiosity, as I'm being asked by several clients, is money spent on egress for recent accounts being taken into consideration? I have a few clients that fit in the greater than 35TB per user category and they have spent a considerable amount of money moving data from their old storage systems to Dropbox. I can say with 100% certainty that they asked if Dropbox was "ok" with the amounts of data being brought in to Dropbox and explained the situation and costs that would be incurred, I can say this as I was the point of contact for them. At no point was it suggested or communicated that this may not be a good time to import large accounts into Dropbox. This in mind, is Dropbox prepared to reimburse them for that egress expense since it sounds like they are going to be given a significantly different bill in about a year?
I asked support and they have no idea, not a judgment on them, just stating a fact. I'm hoping there might be someone here that has a bit more insight.
