Will I lose earned space if I upgrade temporarily and then downgrade?

Hi there, I currently have the basic, free plan wth 18GB of free space earned by referrals over the years. If I were to temporarily upgrade to a paid subscription and then downgrade back to the free plan again, would I lose the extra 16GB?

You shouldn't. Bonus space earned through referrals is permanent. When you upgrade, that bonus space will double from 500MB per referral to 1GB per referral, and when you downgrade back to Basic the bonus space will be halved back to 500MB per.

    Hi Megan,

Thanks for your reply. My concern is that some of the referrals could be as much as 10-15 years old and so I want to be sure that if I temporarily upgrade to a paid account and then downgrade again, I won't lose my current space (18.25GB).

Thanks in advance for any further info you can provide.

Hi Miranda B., I hope you're doing well!

Keep in mind that you won't lose your referrals if you upgrade or downgrade your subscription.

They'll be worth 500 MB if you are on a Basic account, in relation to the 1 GB space they are worth if you are on a paid subscription. You can read more about this here.

Give me a shout with any updates or any other questions, cheers!
