Dropbox is stuck syncing in a loop. How to resolve?
hi, I have a problem with dropbox. dropbox is stuck in a loop on file syncing and would never seem to complete the update. The icon remains in synchronization in progress but it is not doing anything because going into synchronization history the files always remain the same.

Do you know which file is the issue cristiandj81 ?
If so drag it out of Dropbox, let it complete the sync and then return it and see if that works.

what should I drag? I don't understand which file is syncing. Nothing is syncing and the wheel keeps spinning

Hi cristiandj81, let's jump right into this!
Can you clarify the OS you're using on your desktop, along with the version of the Dropbox app that you use there, and the precise syncing status?
That'll help me have a clear idea on what steps we should follow next.
Let me know more!

Thanks for that cristiandj81!
What about the app's syncing status? I'm asking, because that'll give us a precise idea if the app is syncing, stuck syncing or syncing slowly and would also give us the number of files, and size it's syncing.

the synchronization is blocked, that is, nothing is synchronizing but the wheel is spinning

Thanks, cristiandj81, but we'll need to know the status as reported by the app itself.
To see that, you'll need to hover over the small Dropbox icon in your system tray, by your computer's clock.

I have this same problem -
I just got a note from DropBox
"Congratulations, you just earned a new badge on the Dropbox Community!"
So far this new badge is not helping me.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone and a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite tablet. I installed a note taking app called Zettle Notes on both of them. It does exactly what I want it to do. I was hoping to be able to use DropBox to synchronize the two devices. I tried to set up synchronization on them using DropBox. For 4 days now whenever I open the app on either device I get a message with a spinning circle that says "Synchronizing... First sync may take some time." I am unable to use the app. I also get a message "Synchronization - App Folder Error - com.dropbox.core.v..." I don't know what that means, but the rest of the app is grayed out and I cannot use it on either device.
If I uninstall the app then reinstall it, I will have lost all the info I have entered. I have sent a message to the authors of "Zettle Notes" but have not yet received an answer.
Any help / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I'm okay for Dropbox (or anybody else) to contact me by email about this issue.

Hey there spikejones sorry to hear you're having issues with this and thanks for all the information you've provided so far.
Just to make sure we're on the same page now, can you please also send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting so that we can have a visual too?
Also, what is the version of the Dropbox mobile app you're using at the moment?
Any additional information is more than welcome!
PS: The badge you earned is referring to your Dropbox Community profile and has nothing to do with your Dropbox account or the files stored in it. You can find more information about the Community badges here.
