My Dropbox desktop app was updated on my Windows device. Now I can't tell if my content is synced.
OK, so the day I dreaded seems to have finally come.
Dropbox rolled out its "new appearance model" to production, bringing the end of the era of status icons overlaid on program icons and, instead, in their own neat little column carved out for themselves.
Yes, my Dropbox updated today to version 227.4.4774. ๐๐
So, in the process, it apparently had to "re-sync" my files, which took some time. It gave me the whole "you can have your files "Offline," "Available," or "Online Only." I always opt for "Offline." While I love Dropbox, I do not fully trust my files to be resident on your servers and not on my own drive. I just want it for sync. If I want more room, I'll upgrade my hard drive.
Anyway, I let Dropbox finish up its little sync party, and I came back to see what you see in the screen capture shown at the following link:
(For some reason, this forum wouldn't let me submit my post by using the "Insert Link" option in the editor, which is weird...your developers might want to look into that, too.)
The tray icon seemed to indicate that the "sync" was complete, and that my files were "up-to-date."
That doesn't appear to be the story my new-found little "column status icons" tell. Some of those indicate that a "sync" is "pending."
I gave it some time, I restarted my computer to make sure that any hiccups or belches might otherwise be resolved through that. No dice. It's still showing the same thing.
So now I'm confused. Are they synced, or are they not synced?
If they're synced, why does it show "sync pending"?
If they're not synced, why does the tray icon indicate that my files are "up-to-date"?
Help a brother out.
I feared this would be a mess.

What I meant to say was that the forum wouldn't allow me to submit my post if I included the link to my screen capture as a link using the "Insert Link" option in the editor. That's why I simply included it as plain, naked text. Feel free to copy it into your browser to see the screenshot I intended to reference.

And, anticipating the request to see what hovering over the tray icon looks like:

I replaced your links with the actual screenshots. In the future you can just use the option to include an image, rather than a link.

Hey there, Jayson L.โ, let's see what we can find about this!
Keep in mind that for security, and privacy reasons we can't access any third-party links. I've also removed them to avoid further traffic from users that might be visiting our Community.
Now onto what you mentioned. As a first step, can you let me know the OS you're using? Also, when did the update take place?
Also, can you send me a couple of screenshots of the app's syncing status, and the "sync pending" message you see too?
You should be able to click the camera-like icon when replying back to us, and attach your screenshots there.
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
PS: Update. I just saw the screenshot that you sent thanks to Richโ's help!
How long has this been an issue? If you right click on these folders, do you see the option there to make them either "available offline", or "online only"?

When originally posting my inquiry, there was no option to include an image. That was the first thing I looked for. That's why I attempted to go the "link" route.

I'm using Windows 10, fully updated.
The application update occurred yesterday in the early afternoon when I turned on my computer.
As I'm not on the affected computer at the moment, I'll have to get screenshots in a bit.
Are there any other screenshots you want? I'd rather not be asked piecemeal if possible. That gets frustrating.

First, allow me to dispense with Richโ's proposed method of attaching photos to the thread. I'm guessing he'll need to do whatever he did in the first place, here, because I still can't attach photos. You'll have to help me with that, since the option doesn't present itself. I made like I was going to start a new thread for the purposes of capturing the screen so you can see what I saw when I first began this discussion and why I chose the link option rather than the image option (that I couldn't choose).
No "Image" Option:
My Chrome version is up-to-date:
Please take a look at these and tell me how I can upload an image rather than providing links to them. Thank you.

This option does not present itself on my side. Please see elsewhere in this thread. I am using Chrome, fully updated.

Oh, and just for the sake of completeness, here's the way the "reply editor" box appears on my side, as well ... also without the ability to attach images.

And for your web devs, this may be of interest...
