New Dropbox desktop update is re-syncing everything.
This new update has messed how my Dropbox works on Desktop too. I also get the 'syncing' symbol on all of my folders, and for some reason Dropbox has decided that it needs to Sync all ~80,000 files all over again despite the fact that I already had everything set up perfectly how I like it and all the files that I needed for offline/online use were already set.
It's taken about 2.5 hours out of my work day so far because it's clogging up all my time trying to get this mess sorted.

My problem was also solved after leaving it running for two straight days and nights

We're glad to hear that and thanks for the update Huginn - let us know if anything else comes up.

Is there a solution to the issue. Dropbox started the new symbol sync and has decided to re-sync all 200K+ files between my PC and the cloud. Is this a joke? Surely Dropbox could leave my settings alone and implement the change. My PC has been syncing for 2 days now, still got 88k files to go.

Same here. Dropbox decided yesterday it wanted to RE-SYNC all my 300K+ files (!!!). In addition, it wants to do it in BOTH of my computers. Couldn't anybody at Dropbox avoid this unnecessary nuisance to millions of users?

I also have over 300K files re-syncing and it really crashes the whole computer. Do you have any solution for this??? This is a really serious mistake on the part of Dropbox development!

Same. Using 237.4.5655 (Win11). It's re-sync everything for me.
Plus, it is bugged. It stucks at some point, the file number is not going down for several hours.
I suspected that, it has some issues with the ignore files feature. I had ignored some "node_modules" folders. This is because when I delete it, and restart the Dropbox client, it is moving again.

Hey everyone, thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Can you try opting out of the Dropbox for Windows update using the steps here? How is the behavior of the app when you do?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Same here with regards to endless re-sync post new "Windows-Integrated Dropbox mode" (Cloud Files API) update on Windows 11 that was forced on me.
But much worse, I realized, after noticing the apparition of the green and white circles, that thousands of random offline files were locally deleted from my hard drive (for no reason and without my consent). My 300GB C:\Dropbox drive looks like a piece of Swiss cheeze.
I cannot find a way to reinstall and opt out. Clean reinstall don't let me access Advanced Settings. I've been on hold with first line support for five days and no solution in view.
