Please revert the new screenshot "feature" on MacOS, or at least give us the option to do so.
Hi, can you PLEASE revert that new Screenshot "feature" you added in MacOS. Previously, it was possible to simply drag and drop a Screenshot into Finder or Photos right after it was taken. Now, your stupid popup shows up and drag and drop doesn't work. This worked PERFECTLY in the past and there was NO reason to touch this functionality. Why are you taking this feature away from us???

On Mac, dropbox folder now is always placed at the bottom of the Finder window, not possible to rearrange it to the top of the list without it going back to the bottom.
Is that also something that could be fixed?

I'm running 222.4.5042 and this issue is still present. Show floating thumbnail is constantly turning back on despite me using shift+command+5 to turn it off.
Please note that I have NOT switched to the File Provider setup because the list of changes seemed like it would make using Dropbox worse.
Yes Dropox Prefs > screenshot options are all OFF. Toggled them both on and off again to reset also.
Perhaps cineview and others are also using the old syncing as well? Makes sense that a bug like this with macos would happen if it's not using their core file provider...?

This issue is recurring for me as well, "show floating thumbnail" continually gets turned on (I want it off).
Triggers are:
- Toggling the screenshot preferences in DB
- Computer restart
- Time passing (it is reset at least once daily) - cineview8 months agoHelpful | Level 6
If this is not fixed within a week now, i moving my 10 year old subscription on Dropbox to another system. Im tired of paying a fortune for this nonsense!

I'm very annoyed by this issue as well.
Apple points the finger at Dropbox and whines Dropbox won't fix it, vice versa over here: Dropbox claims it's all Apple.
I, too, am a very long time customer (more than a decade), and not happy to be paying to be in the middle of some corporate spat...one that's completely disrupted my entire workflow, because I rely very heavily on being able to drag and drop screenshots on my Mac and quickly, easily share them from Dropbox.
If I'm paying for both services, I want at least one of them to work!
For years, I recommended this service to many friends and associates precisely because the screenshot flow was so intuitive, but now I can no longer do so in good conscience.
Like cineview, I'm ready to take my business elsewhere.

Same. I'm at the point where I'll try and code it myself.

Is it possible to revert the screenshot features back to previous? I liked the ability to click the thumbnail and have a share button on the markup page instead of the "save and copy" or "save link" features. Previously you could just click the share button and send from there. Bring it back please.

A workaround seeing as Dropbox have gone quiet on this.
* Shift-Command-5 to bring up the Mac screenshots app
* either select or deselect "Show Floating Thumbnail" under "Options"
* in Finder, navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.screencapture.plist
* right-click on the plist file, Get Info, checkbox "locked"Now Dropbox can't overwrite your setting.
This also means you can't overwrite it either, you'll need to unlock the file first, so make a note for future you to remind you that you've done this. The plist file is also where the location of your screenshots is saved.
RyanFromDropbox, please let us know here when Dropbox has fixed this for real so we can safely unlock our plist file again, thanks.

& a bit of additional info if it helps the Dropbox team - while other options have a True/False key in the preference list file, show-thumbnail is only written to the file when it is False ie. deselected:
<key>show-thumbnail</key><false/>When True ie. selected, the show-thumbnail key does not appear in the file.
