Why is the Dropbox app using over 700 MB of memory on my Mac computer?

Have been using Dropbox for years but lately my iMac is extremely slow. Checking the Activity Monitor from Apple, learned that Dropbox is using 747,9 MB of memory.

What should be a normal value and how to get there. Help would be highly appreciated.

    Hi Nancy,

Tomorrow (just to make sure) ill try another advanced reinstall on my Mac, including copying and pasting the commands in the terminal and come back to you with results and answers to your questions.

Hey Rob F.14! Hope you don’t mind if I jump in here.

Can you clarify which of the steps you’ve followed exactly, so that I can guide you from there?

I’d also like to know the current syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app.
