Cannot open Google Sheet document on the Dropbox website
Hello all -
I have a Google Sheet that i created several months ago. I have been using it (updates) several times a week. Today, I am no longer able to open the google sheet. I keep being directed to a page with this:

I am signed into my Google account and i am able to open all other files, but suddenly not this one. I even cleared the cache/cookies and still it doesn't work.
Any suggestions or help are welcome!

thank you
Update: I just checked another Google document and I cannot open that one either. It is Doc format. I can open up documents I created as Word Doc, but not Google Doc or Google Sheets. These are important docs for me. I hope i can recover them.
Turning off the DuckDuckGo Chrome extension has allowed my files to load. I'm guessing the latest Chrome update is causing this error. I'm sure they don't like not being able to track everything.

Hi JohnpB, have you tried switching browsers entirely to see if this helps, or using incognito mode?

I am having the same issue with not being able to open files in Google Drive. It says to "Start session" but won't let me proceed further. As the problem was an extension in this solution I tried disabling extensions, however this has not worked.
Anyone have any clue? - Calvin2DBX2 years ago

Hi asdxasdx,
Just seeing if I can help here.
Yes, you definitely need the emails to match for Google integration with Dropbox, same for Microsoft Office.
If you are signed in with the same email there (in Word for the web, for example) as you use for your Dropbox account, you should be fine.
Is this still happening with newly created items after the email change?
Also, were the ones you're having trouble with converted from Google format to Microsoft format before you set the default for Google files to be stored on their side?
Let me know what you see!

Yes, I changed it from my iCloud adress to my googlemail adress to make sure that it matches the google docs username. I did that because I've read in another thread that this may solve my problem.

Hi asdxasdx, have you changed your email address on your Dropbox account?

Google docs was already my default option. I changed it to MS Office and then back to Google docs - but this did not help as well 😞

Thanks for the update, asdxasdx.
Just to check, if you change the default place where your Microsoft Office files open to Google Docs in this case, does that help at all?

Thanks for the quick reply. When I create a Google doc in Dropbox (which is then stored in my Google Drive with a link to it in my Dropbox), I can open it via "Open with Google docs". But when I want to open a Microsoft Word file (whether it was created in dropbox or just uploaded from my hard drive), the Problem appears...

Hey asdxasdx, sorry to see you're having trouble.
Were these docs created in Dropbox?
And are they Google Docs or Microsoft Word files you're trying to open with Google Docs?

Hey, every time I want to open a document on www.dropbox.com with google docs, the Google login window appears. After the login, the same page reloads ("Sign in to continue..."). I tried all the possible solutions discussed in other threads (3 different browsers, same email for dropbox and google, every browser plugin deactivated, incognito mode, ...).
Can anyone help me?
