Data cannot be synced between devices with the Dropbox Passwords app
I installed and connected the Dropbox Passwords app on my Android 13 phone and the Dropbox Passwords Chrome extension on my Windows 10 computer.
I then added the new accounts to the Dropbox Passwords extension on my computer successfully. The problem is that I can't find newly added accounts on the Dropbox Passwords app on my phone.
That means there is no data synchronization between computer and phone devices in the Dropbox Passwords app.
I use the same Dropbox registered account to connect Dropbox Passwords between my phone and computer.
I hope Dropbox fixes this error in the Dropbox Passwords application.
Thank you very much.

After a period of use, I discovered a problem that made it impossible to synchronize data between devices.
The problem here is that the devices must be linked together.
Specifically, I have to log out of all devices and then log in on one device first. After completing the login, I will log in to the second device. After entering the email and password, there will be one more step: Dropbox Passwords will send an approval request to the first device that has successfully logged in. labour. If the approval request is accepted, the 2nd device will sync data with the 1st device. I also did the same when connecting to the 3rd device and was also successful in syncing data between devices.
Note: you must export data to a csv file before logging out of all devices to avoid data loss and you should back up backup codes when logging out.
Another way worth trying is:
Log out of devices and keep only one device, then log in to the second and third devices in turn.
I haven't tried this case yet, but I think trying this case first will be more convenient and less time-consuming than the above method. If it doesn't work, log out and log back in on the devices. - Megan2 years ago

Hi Odessus, welcome to our Community!
I understand that you are having some problems with syncing passwords between your devices.
Can you try adding a password on more than one device, and see if any of your passwords sync across? This will help to narrow down if the syncing problem exists only with one of your devices, or if multiple devices are affected.
For example: If your passwords are syncing between two devices, but they are not syncing to a third device, we can narrow the problem down to just the third device.Last, but not least can you clarify what is the OS and OS version of the device(s) that are experiencing the syncing problem?
Keep me posted!

Same problem. Old data gets saved and synced across all devices but new data entered on iPhone doesn’t sync with iPad and Android, etc.

Let me ask, are you majoring in information technology?
If you are an information technology employee, you must understand that there is no difference between 2 or 3 or more devices in the data synchronization process.
Problems in the software programming department (including errors that arise during operation).
I suggest you escalate this issue to your company's programming department for a solution. - Jay2 years ago

Do you only have two devices connected? If you have a third device, we can test to see if the syncing isn't occurring on a specific device.

After installing the application on the phone, the extension on the computer and connecting them together. I imported the accounts from the csv file of an old Dropbox Passwords account I created previously but I no longer use.
After importing, the accounts appear on both phone and computer devices.
I also tried adding a new account on the phone app then I searched on the computer but it didn't appear.
The problem occurs when I add new accounts on one device but can't see them on another. (There is no data synchronization between devices). - Jay2 years ago

Just to check, does the mobile app contain any of the passwords visible in the desktop version, or is it only new items that aren't syncing across?
What happens if you add a password on the mobile app?

I've tried closing and reopening many times but it still doesn't work.
I also restarted the device but it still didn't work.
I don't think this is a new problem because when I started installing the Dropbox Passwords app and adding new accounts to Dropbox Passwords on the computer, the accounts never appeared on the Dropbox Passwords app on the phone. It has never synchronized data between devices. - Megan2 years ago

Hi ai0ia, sorry to jump in here!
Can you try to close and re-open the Dropbox Passwords app on your device(s). When you re-open the app, are your passwords now synced?
When did the syncing problem start occurring?

Hi...
I make sure to use the same account for phone and computer. I'm also an Information Technology engineer so I wouldn't make such a stupid mistake.
