file explorer not responding when opening excel or word from dropbox folder
I just purchased a new computer with Windows 10 Pro. For some reason when opening any Microsoft Office product from the dropbox folder, the file explorer locks up and doesn't respond. From my documen...
- 8 years agoJay... Thanks for your response. Before you responded, I reinstalled the office 365 suite and it resolved the issue.

8 years agoHi Tony, could you try quitting the Dropbox desktop application completely and try opening files while the desktop app is closed?
If the issue persists while the app is closed, then it could either be an issue with the files in the folder, or with how Word/Excel are reading them.

Hi, I have a user in my office experiencing the same issue. I have no problems opening the files. She has flickering video when opening Excel or Word docs from the Dropbox folder. When Dropbox is uninstalled she can open from the folder with no issues. Problem has persisted on 3 different computers, all Windows 10 Pro, and less than 1 year old. Would love some ideas.
