Google Sheets & Slides crashes with Chrome browser
Hoping someone can help as Dropbox is saying this is a Chrome issue and can't resolve.
My company uses Dropbox for files. I open excel & powerpoint files from dropbox.com to google sheets & slides. Once I start typing in the google sheets or google slides file, it immediately crashes Chrome. With Google Docs, this isn't an issue with Chrome. It apparently is not an issue with anyone else in the company editing the dropbox.com files using google sheets or slides.
Noting, I don't have any issues editing google sheets or slides in Safari with dropbox files, but I would like to avoid using more than one browser at work as we use a lot of Google applications and really only use Google.
I've already done the following:
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome
- Cleared cookies and cache
Thanks for the help in advance!

I'm posting an update to let everyone know that this issue seems to be fixed for me.
I'm not sure what changed on Dropbox's end, but I'm now able to open Google Docs and Sheets without my browser crashing!

Hi, I have a few employees who are having this issue - their Chrome crashes when they try to open Google docs and sometimes they have to restart their computer (Mac) which can take a long time. They're using Safari as a workaround, but we'd like them to use Chrome whenever possible.
Chrome is up-to-date, and they're on Ventura 13.0. Any suggestions appreciated! They've cleared cache and cookies, only extensions are Google Docs Offline and LastPass. This is a Dropbox Business Standard Team account.

Hi atvuong, I hope you're doing well!
Have you made sure that Chrome is up-to-date? Also, if you try to clear the cache, or disable any plug-ins, do you notice any difference?
Keep me posted!

Hi Megan , one of our employees reset their Chrome to default and it was still crashing when using opening a Google Doc through Dropbox. Another employee is having the same issue on Chrome and has started freezing on Safari, but is able to use Google Docs outside of Dropbox. Both are on Ventura 13.1 and Chrome is up to date.

Hi atvuong, do you know if this issue occurred after a recent update to the Chrome browser?

Hello having the same issue, already troubleshot, disconnected the app, reinstalled Chrome, and all other suggestions. It still crashes whenever I open Google Docs or Sheets, please advise.

Same here! Updated Chrome and MacOS, and cleared cache. Only plugin is LastPass.
