Watching a Dropbox video from Iphone to Chromecast
IS there a way for me to watch a dropbox video from iphone to Chromecast?
Hi there lkwizzy, thanks for reaching out to us here!
From what I could find, the Dropbox app isn't one of the currently supported apps for Chromecast. You can check out some more info on the supported apps from here.
Perhaps you can try opening the video from the Chrome browser on your phone and Cast the tab? The steps to do this are outlined here.
Let me know if this helps!

I have photos and videos on Dropbox that I like to access "on-the-go" via the iPhone app or broadcast on the TV. Is there a connectivity option between the Dropbox app (iPhone) and Chromecast? Have any of you worked out a solution? Thank you

Current Dropbox version (256.2.4) does not support ChromeCast since IOS 14.
Dropbox on IOS lacks the right to access the local network and doesn't let IOS know it needs this access for its player which is why Dropbox is not found in the IOS privacy settings. I used this feature daily until yesterday (on my previous IOS 12 phone), I need this feature for quality control of audio files. Hope some devs will 'hear' us and schedule this small fix in the next update.

Me and my family want to move from Google Photo/Drive to Dropbox.
We have been waiting at least two years for this feature. We all use Chromecast from the Google Photo app a lot.Does Dropbox have any roadmap for getting this supported ?

Thank you, I have upvoted the idea as you have suggested.
I'm not holding my breath here, but hope to one day finally get this feature.I'm a bit concerned if all new "standard" innovations take this long to get into Dropbox ๐
- LEGODamashii3 years agoHelpful | Level 5There does not seem to be a way to cast a tab from the Chrome app on iOS (from an iPhone). The instructions you linked to will only work for the PC (or possibly Mac) version of Chrome.
Please consider adding casting functionality to Dropbox.
Thank you! - Walter3 years ago
