Dropbox removed "Vault" and is now dropping "Passwords", maybe they can lower our monthly payment?
Would love for Dropbox to lower their monthly costs since they are providing the same service for years and have mainly removed platforms that I personally use.

I don't think anyone asked for new features at the expense of the password feature. It's been an integral part of the service we pay for. We don't want to deal with yet another supplier and subscription. This is a big letdown.
Dropbox you still have time to reverse this. Your users hate this change.

They removed the app for mac as well... but discontinuing passwords is a much biger problem for me. I am too stupid to move my dropbox-passwords to Apple's keychain via the CVS-file; so I might have to switch manually... definitely thinking about cancelling my dropbox subscription

Also annoyed at this, especially at the shortness of notice. I have send a question to support:
Hi, following the recent announcement that passwords will be discontinued I wanted to ask if this would result in a reduction in our subscription fees? If it's not going to cost $1.50/month (as per your recommended provider) I believe that should result in a similar reduction in our fees.

Well, at least they should double this reduction. As we need to handle 2 different suppliers instead of one. And I als believe the $1.50/month is for one year only?

It's really sad that after 15 years of using Dropbox that I'll end up cancelling my membership because the two most useful features (Vault and Passwords) are no longer available.
There are cheaper alternatives to Dropbox now, and without these features I don't see why I would continue to pay more.
I really hope they reverse this decision, but if not then this will be the last time I pay for a Dropbox service.

My reply from DropBox support:

You're absolutely right to ask if the subscription fees are to be adjusted in relation to this development.
However, at the moment, there are no plans regarding the adjustment of the Dropbox subscription prices.
If such a thing happens in the future you will be informed accordingly.
The price of your plan will remain unchanged for the time being.
The decision to discontinue Dropbox Passwords was tough but it was also made as part of an effort to focus on enhancing existing Dropbox features.
You can find more information about the discontinuation of Dropbox Passwords in this Help center article: https://help.dropbox.com/installs/dropbox-passwords-discontinuation - aL_br5 months agoHelpful | Level 5
They treat costumers very poorly with this kind of reply.

Hi Hannah. Any news from the team?

I get that they have to make business decisions that may not line up with everyone's needs, but that comes at a cost. I've been a 2TB customer for over a decade, and having the price increase over the years has been fine since I got a lot of value out of the storage and Passwords app. Now that the Passwords app is being tossed, and I don't use any of the other features Dropbox considers more important, I guess it's time to make a move. I wish I didn't have to, but when a software company goes in a direction that doesn't benefit you anymore, it's necessary.
