Hi nikoukonstantinos, welcome to our Community!

Hi there, currently there aren’t any discounts for Dropbox Plus, which is the cheapest plan you can subscribe to.

As for the VAT question, feel free to have a closer look to my colleague's response about this here.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let me know!

"As for the VAT question, feel free to have a closer look to my colleague's response about this here."

So you didn't answer to the VAT question.
The link you provided about your 'colleagues' responses will just confirm that Dropbox still has illegal practises regarding EU VAT. Since almost 10years.

Hey there, artmanjam1, I hope you're doing well!

I'd be happy to explain more, even though I think my colleague already provided the necessary info.

When using our Plus plan, and since it's a product for personal use, we are obligated to charge tax on it in certain cases and we are unable to exclude this from your payment.

We can't edit, and change the info shown in Dropbox Plus invoices. As an alternative you can do the little trick, or changing the account info, as described here

If you're using a different kind of plan, and not a Plus plan, you can also have a look into this

    Thanks a bunch!

"since it's a product for personal use, we are obligated to charge tax on it in certain cases and we are unable to exclude this from your payment." FALSE!

Once again, you're mixing up 'product' and 'transaction'.

Whenever you're selling to a private customer, whatever the product, you're obligated to charge the customer's EU country VAT.

Whenever you're selling to an EU VAT registered business customer, WHATEVER THE PRODUCT, you're obligated to apply 'Reverse charge' and to provide a compliant invoice.

This is relevant to the transaction and the customer's status, private or business. Surely not to the so called 'personal' or 'business' or anything else product.

Here it is, again and again... 😕 (Irish Revenue site)😞

VAT obligations of Irish traders supplying services to business customers abroad Identification of a business for a business to business (B2B) supply of services

If you are supplying services to a business customer in another European Union (EU) Member State you should do the following:

    • obtain the business customer’s Value-Added Tax (VAT) number and confirm its validity
    • insert the customer’s VAT number on the invoice and retain records of the transaction
    • issue an invoice indicating reverse charge will apply

Hi artmanjam1, this is all the info we can provide, at the moment.

If you're using your Dropbox Plus subscription for business purposes, the action we can point you to, is to change your account name to your business name.

You can do this by following the steps here

Once you've changed your name and updated your billing info, the invoice should display the updated information.

You can read more about Tax on Dropbox Subscriptions, here.

    I hope this helps.

"this is all the info we can provide, at the moment."
Sorry, not "at the moment", I reported this 6 years ago, it's a very long moment.

BTW it's anything but a "name" issue.

1- Dropbox doesn't provide a valid and legal invoice for EU business customers.
2- Dropbox charges VAT, knowing they should apply Reverse charge.
3- Since 6 years, apart from the 'always the same' surrealistic 'home product' allegations, I couldn't get one single and valid justification about Dropbox unfair and illegal practise towards their EU business customers.

"You can read more about Tax on Dropbox Subscriptions, here."
No, nothing more than what has been said since 6 years...

I'd like to say thank you. Sorry but after 6 years, can I, really?
