How can I update my billing information so that my VAT ID is reflected on my Plus plan's invoice?
Hello,
I have Dropbox Plus subscription. I use it for storing my company files. How can I change the invoice information (the "to" part)? I need my comapny's data and VAT id to be displayed on the invoice.
Best regards,
Aleksander
Hey there Aleksander - how are you today?
As Dropbox Plus invoices are created in a way that we cannot adjust the billing information displayed and since you use your Dropbox Plus subscription as a business, you may want to change your account name to your business name as described here:
https://www.dropbox.com/help/billing/plus-change-invoice-information
SpoilerThis is how to update your company name on your Dropbox invoice:
- Sign in to dropbox.com.
- In the top-right of any page, click your avatar.
- Select Settings.
- In the General tab, click Edit to the right of your account name.
- Enter your company or organization name split over the First name and Last name fields. You are required to type something in both fields.
- Update your billing information. Even if you plan on using the same method of payment, you'll need to reenter your billing information after updating your account name in order to change the information that appears on your invoice.
Learn more about updating billing information for Dropbox Plus.
Your company or organization name will now appear on invoices and when you share files.
To access an invoice, visit your payments page.
Note that there are more options for customizing the invoices on our Dropbox Business plans, if you need more inforamtion about this you can visit this page:

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any further inquiries datadiscovery!

The answer is incomplete as the VAT data is not present in the billing area while VAT data is present in the Business Dropbox, but for small buisiness and freelance Business is too expensive compared to the plus.

I'm not sure I follow riodda - could you send me a screenshot of what you describe?
Thanks in advance and happy May!

You simply have to ADD VAT data to invoicing for dropbox plus, currently the system allows VAT inoicing only on dropbox for business.

Thanks for sending along your billing feedback riodda ! I’ll be sure to pass this along to the team.
In the meantime, as already mentioned, you can use the steps outlined in the following Help Center article:

Thanks Walter, that link is totally useless as in the plus invoicing profile is not possible to specify VAT number that will appear in the invoice.
Cheers.

You should be able to achieve this by having your VAT ID reflect on your account's name and/or surname fields riodda!

How is this not solved! It's open since 2018!
Putting your VAT number on your name is an impractical hack. Clients using shared folders see a change in my dropbox name for absolutely no reason other than dropbox does not care about EU based freelancers.

It is solved.
If you have a Professional or Business account you can add a VAT ID to your billing information. Basic and Plus accounts, which are intended for personal use, do not have this option.

The ability to get an invoice is not a feature it's a legal requirement in the EU.
Dropbox is intentionally making the process complex to upsell more expensive plans.
