I accidentally joined a business account. How can I go back to my original plan?
Hey! Please help me I'm being charged for a dropbox business account. I didn't mean to have it clicked. A client shared a link to a folder. Now I'm being registered to a business account. I want my original plan to be restored which is 2tb per year only. Please help thank you!

You need to ask that the company remove you note they must not delete you.

Hi TC55
You need to ask that the company remove you note they must not delete you. Then you will be removed and downgraded back to a free account at which point you can re-upgrade.
The only people who can do that though are the business themselves.

I purchased my own Dropbox for my company's folders. We are working with another company, and they accidently invited me to join their Dropbox. I accepted the invite (not knowing this was a mistake), and was refunded my original purchase and am now on their plan it appears. I would like to be removed from theirs, and go back to my original plan with just my company.

Hey PD24, thanks for reaching out to us.
It sounds like you've accidentally joined a Dropbox team account.
To go back to your individual account now, the admin of the team, in this case your colleague, will need to convert your account back to an individual Basic account.
That way, the team files will be removed and you'll keep your personal files and your account.
Since you'll go back to the free version and you've received a prorated refund for your previous plan, you can simply re-upgrade from this page.
I hope this helps!

Help! I've accepted an invitation to a colleague's Dropbox to help with her clients while she's on maternity leave. Instead of showing her main folder and sub-folders in my account, now mine has been absorbed into her account somehow – can I rewind to an hour ago to fix this? I've also received notification of a refund for my Dropbox subscription which is not at all what I wanted. Hope I'm articulating this ok... very stressed, and don't want to stress her out, please help!

It sounds like you were invited to and joined their Business account. When doing so, you merged your account into their team account, effectively making them the owner of your account.
In order to leave the team, the team admin needs to convert your account back to an individual account. It's important that they don't just remove you from the team as doing so would delete your account. If that were to happen, the team admin only has seven days to restore your account.

Could anyone help with this issue? I was asked to join a shared dropbox folder but it turns out it was a request to join their dropbox account. Now my account has disappeared and been cancelled and I'm inside their account.
How can I setup my account again and remove myself (and my files) from their account? I don't seem to be able to do this as I'm now a member of someone else's account.
Really appreciate anyone's help - because I'm really concerned all my files have now been compromised and are on someone else's account...

Thanks for your reply, patbeennettaz, however, I'm not really sure I understand where the issue lies.
If you joined a Dropbox Business team, but didn't mean to, or do not wish to continue being a member of that team, the team admin will need to follow the steps I gave you, to return your account to an individual one again.
If you previously had a paid subscription, all you need to do is re-upgrade, because you received a prorated refund, when you joined the team.
Is this not what you'd like to do?

I just want my account back, your solution indicates I can't be part of the team and I had asked for that rather than having two different logins to DropBox
There has to be a way to give me back my account that I have had and paid for for the last 15 years!!
Who can I talk to? I can't do "chat" now because I don't have an account. I can't use my email for my PERSONAL dropbox because it is now associated with the other one.
This is not a good way to do this.
Please, help me talk or chat with a real person!!!

Hey patbeennettaz, sorry to hear about this, but not to worry, the solution is pretty simple!
The admin of the team will just need to convert your account back to an individual.
To do so, they'll need to follow the steps in this article.
I hope this helps!
