I can't leave a Family plan, as I keep being asked for the owner's permission.

Thank you Nancy for this. I think I probably could leave that way, but my concern is then not having an account for a while - I had wanted to change plan, from the family plan to my own, but that's where I'm having troubles, as it's saying I don't have permission to do this. If I do leave the family plan, will I then be given the option to start my own without losing any of my files? Thank you.

2 years agoHey Johanna! If you leave the Family plan, your Dropbox account will be converted to a free Basic one and you’ll retain all of your files and folders in your individual account, plus any content that was shared with you previously. The only thing that’ll happen is that you’ll lose access to the Family Room folder.
You can also re-upgrade your Dropbox account after that point, if you wish to.
