To switch the email addresses linked to your account, you will need to use a third email as a placeholder, which we'll call 'Email 3'.
Please follow these instructions to switch the email addresses linked to your account:
- On your first account, please change Hotmail to Email 3. This will release Hotmail. You can change your email on the Dropbox website.
- Log out of your first account, and log in to your second account.
- Once you have logged into your second account, please change your email address to Hotmail. This will release Yahoo.
- Log out of your second account and log back in to your first account.
- You can then change the email on your first account from the placeholder Email 3 to Yahoo.
You only need to make these changes once. Any changes you make automatically apply to any computers or mobile devices linked to your account.

Jay since I upgraded, I would like just one dropbox, I would like to just change the email address on xyz, which was a hotmail account, to my yahoo account. I want to be able to use my drop box on my 2 laptops and on my mobile device. So what every I need to do would be helpful. The upgraded account was my hotmail address. Also for some reason dropbox will not load on my one laptop. I even had my tech support for my laptop try to correct it and it just will not load.

What happened? What does www.dropbox.com/events show TheEx ?
Changing emails doesn't cause any data loss at all - its just an update on an admin system

I just tried to log on to my yahoo account, that was my hotmail account. all my hotmail files are now gone. It also shows I need to pay for the plus again.
