Misuse or mistake using my email address
I'm not "daskip". I might've had a dropbox account with one of my email addresses. Recently I got emails in French saying that a user named "daskip" registered an account with dropbox using my email ...

Can you let me know more, in regards to what happened your files and if you have access to your Dropbox account?
Keep me posted!
- lab14 years agoExplorer | Level 4Hi Megan!
I got emails in French about my account and was locked out. I changed the password back and when I got in, all my files were gone except one shared folder.
Same name used as the people above.
Thx!- Megan4 years ago

Hi lab1, I hope you're doing well!
Do you remember the last time you signed into your Dropbox account?
If I were you, I'd also take a look into the events page, and check to restore anything that has been deleted.

There is nothing in events except the shared folder. I was in there in Nov/Dec months ago I think, I don't use it all the time b/c it's my archive. Can you even retrieve anything from that timeframe? Thx!

Hi, I've seen the same issue with my account. I went in to reset my password and learned that the emails are in French, and I'm being addressed as "daskip' too. Can you please help with this?

Hey sd2323, I'd be happy to help!
Have you checked your account's settings, by any chance to see if the name of the account is "daskip"?
Did you see any odd activity to your account, such as file activity, change of password etc?
Let me know more!
