How can I disable the feature to automatically open a Dropbox link in Explorer in Windows?

Dropbox recently implemented a feature that allows you to open Windows Explorer in the folder where the file is located when you click on a link to a file in your Dropbox. I have enabled this behavior as automatic, but I want to return to the default behavior and I can't find a way to disable this feature.

Thanks for the details. Could you visit this page on your account, and turn 'Open share links on desktop' to Off. This should revert that behavior to the default.

I am experiencing the same issue. I also implemented the feature that once you click on a Dropbox file link typed in Word, Excel, some other platform, etc., it first opens the link in a browser window, but also automatically opens the containing File Folder on my desktop. I need to turn this feature off since my PC lags relentlessly ever since I implemented the feature. I was able to grab a screenshot of both messages/pop-ups that appear. The first appears briefly in the middle of my screen. The second appears at the bottom of the browser window.

Okay, so the link you're referring to is one that you click on from the Dropbox site, and not from the desktop app, is that correct?

Are you using the Open button feature, which is closely related to what you're describing?

No, because it was a notification that appeared when opening the website. And I didn't find anything to disable it in the app or in the web interface.

    Thanks

Hi guilhermesv, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Do you recall where you changed this setting originally?

Are you able to see any options in the Dropbox desktop application preferences?

This will help me to assist further!
