How to move my Dropbox folder on another drive?

Good morning,
I would like to change the hard disk storage of my dropbox folders on my pc.
You have to go to preferences, synchronization and then change the hard drive then click move.
When I click on move, it only affects the files I have on my pc but nothing that is online right?
I have the impression that it copies everything I have on my dropbox, which is not at all what I want. I will never have enough space to receive everything. How to proceed ?

Also, I wanted to try the team version for the trial month but now I would like to go back to my old subscription. Will this affect my files? I'm really afraid of losing information.

Looking forward to your return.
Thank you and good day

You can move your Dropbox folder by following these steps

As for cancelling your trial, note that your files won't be affected and you can have a look here for more information.

    I hope this helps!

On my Windows 11 laptop my Dropbox folder is on my drive C in 'Users'. I also have a second physical hard drive D. My C drive is filling up, and I would like to move my Dropbox folder and files to my Drive D--hopefully without losing any files or functionality. How do I do this.

    Many Thanks,

    Jim

Hey Jim L, thanks for posting to our Community.

If you'd like to move your Dropbox folder to another location, you'll need to follow these steps.

Keep in mind that moving the Dropbox folder to an external drive (if D is an external one) is not recommended, as it can cause deletions, if the Dropbox app starts before the drive is connected, so caution is advised.
