10 months agoI can't access an old Dropbox account; I don't have the password/email address.
Hello,
I can't access an older account I made, only this one and another one that I made later. All I remember about it is that it had some art and animations on there that were created in Macromedia Flash, that the password that I last set it to doesn't work anymore (possibly because of a data breach?), I don't have access to the email associated with it [removed per Community Guidelines], and I can't login. Help!
Thanks,
Aleph

I've also emailed Dropbox. If they get back to me with a solution then I'll set this as solved

Hey anonymous! Thanks for your post.
If I get this right, you’re trying to sign in to the Dropbox account in question, but the password is wrong, correct?
If yes, is it possible to contact your ESP and see if they can re-enable the email address instead (so that you can reset your password)? In cases where the password isn’t accepted and there’s no access to the linked email address, I’m afraid there’s not much that we can do due to security reasons.
Feel free to send me your ticket number though, and I can leave an internal note for you.
Keep me updated.

Another thing to consider is when was the last time you signed in to the account? If the account has been idle for more than a year then it would have been deleted, along with all files, due to inactivity.

It's been about 3 or 4 years since I've last logged in. Several attempts were made to log in before it had been a year after I last successfully logged in, but all to no avail because by that time I didn't have the email.
If this is the case, then what a shame, I was really looking forward to finding out what was in it.

If that's the case, then the account and all data would have been deleted years ago. Unfortunately, once an account has been deleted it's not possible to recover it or the data it once contained.

Good afternoon, Nancy!
You're right: I've tried again and again to sign in, but the password is now invalidated. Unfortunately, it's been a lot more than a year since I've deleted the email, but I'd be glad to send you the ticket number: #24867391
Thanks for dropping in!

Hi anonymous!
I just checked, and it seems that your ticket number was automatically caught by our spam filter.
In order to further troubleshoot, and get to the bottom of this I just sent you a new email. Reply back to me, and we'll take it from there!
