Someone changed the email address on my account

Please help!

Someone accessed my Dropbox account somehow and after they reset the password, they changed the email address so I can no longer reset the password. How do I access my files before they are all deleted???

Can anyone please help me?

You'll need to contact Dropbox Support directly. Visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for sign in issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.

We've recently had several company dropbox accounts hacked. They login change the email to the account and we can no longer access the accounts. I'm wondering how to stop this and if it's possible for the hacker to upload a malicious file and all the computers syncing with our dropbox now have that file downloaded onto their synced machine.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Xxxggghhh917, I'm really sorry to hear about this.

What you mentioned is a possible scenario, I'm afraid, if these people now have access to the accounts.

Are these accounts members of a Dropbox Business team?

If so, have you reached out to our support team for further assistance?

No they are individual accounts sharing one folder with all of our content.

Hi Xxxggghhh917, since the accounts are all individual ones, then you'd need to submit a ticket from the email address linked to each individual account that was compromised.

You can do this, using this page.

    Thanks for the answer.
But the issue is that I dont have access to my email account, as it has been hacked (as it was my dropbox account)
Only through customer support I could solve this.

To stop hacks of your Dropbox account, two-factor verification should be enabled.  That makes it as good as impossible to hack you account.
Click on you Account profile > Settings > Security
