Allow us to hide certain folders from the Photos tab.

It would be very helpful to have the option to select which directories to include or exclude in the "Photos" section. We often store images or screenshots in specific folders, and these end up mixed in with our main photos, creating visual clutter.
Being able to limit the display to only the directories that actually contain photos would help maintain a more organized and focused experience.

How many votes does an idea need in order to get it on the "roadmap?"

I like the photos tab for viewing images but it is impossible to use when all of my work related images show up.

This would help me so much, i don't want certain personal photos etc to show up in the photos tab. And i also don't want a bunch of work photos to show up there either, being able to choose what shows up in "photos tab" is a feature that is make it or break it for me atm. Considering leaving dropbox.

What I do right now is totally ignore the Photos tab except to upload photos and videos from my iPhone's photos. Since this is all related to Dropbox, I doubt there is an app that can do what you want and still use Dropbox. I believe that iCloud or Google do not do what Dropbox does with it's Photos tab, but I am not certain of that.

Many have mentioned the problems with the Photos tab showing all photos in Dropbox. This is probably already said somewhere, but my problems with it are:
- Since I use Dropbox for almost all of my "working" files and folders, I have many images that are not really for viewing purposes. There are even icons from various applications, stored web pages, etc. that aren't really even "photo" images. These just add to the extreme clutter of the Photos tab.
- Because of the clutter, the photos tab is almost impossible to use for it's purpose, to view photo images.
- I have learned this lesson the hard way, but if you remove a thumbnail in the Photos tab, it removes the image from your Dropbox folder, wherever it is. This is just dumb and sloppy programming, but it's the way the Photos tab in Dropbox works.
- Sometimes I have to backup a client's computer folder when I'm on-site. I do this to Dropbox so that I can access it later at a different computer. Any image from the backup ends up with a thumbnail (and that thumbnail links to the actual image). I definitely do not need these images in my Photos tab.
The only feature that works fairly well (despite not uploading in the background due to Apple restrictions) is the camera uploads. These are what I expect to see in the Photos tab. It should be restricted to showing and linking to images in the Camera Uploads, and the Photos folders. Period! If a person want to have the thumbnail (and link) in the Photos tab, they should put the images in the Photos folder. That is the purpose of that folder.

I’m very Happy with dropbox generally, but this missing feature is extremely annoying. It forces me to keep pictures in different places, such as external harddisks, because I can’t otherwise use the photos section.
If anyone knows of a product similar to dropbox that has this feature PLEASE write about it, I will buy it immediately.my main concern is like the others in this thread. I have real family photos, and then I have work photos, photos of recipies, photos of books I’d like to read etc etc. I don’t want them all mixed

This is really an essential feature that should be added (the Dropbox support representative I asked about this agreed, it is a feature that many would find useful!).
There are so many situations where you would want to hide photos from the Photos section. That could be any type of "private" photo, photos of documents (like tickets, travel, legal etc), anything you don't want to share with others who might be seeing your Photos section.
Tbh, I would rather be able to disable the Photos section than have it without an option to hide photos from it.

This is crucial as we only need to see those photos that we want under the Photos tab, rather than all the photos inside Dropbox. There can be an option to display all / selected folders only.
