Hi
Does anyone know if Dropbox are looking into supporting 360 pics?
Thanks

While we currently preview several filetypes on dropbox.com and in the Dropbox mobile apps (& we also sync all filetypes across devices), 360 pics aren’t currently supported. I’d happily pass on your interest to our team for future consideration though. Can you let me know a bit more info on the ways you’re storing & processing your 360° photos? Thanks again & I’m looking forward to hearing back from you!- BecksmHelpful | Level 5
Hi there
We are producing VR or equirectangular jpegs. These are produced on our 3D software.
We then load to Vimeo/Youtube/Facebook to run, but we want to store in Dropbox and use showcase for our clients to view.
Thanks

I have pictures taken with a Ricoh Theta 360 camera. I have the pictures uploaded to Dropbox but can't view them in 360 mode. I have the same pictures uploaded to different online storage sites and they seem to have the 360 viewer software built in and allow for viewing the photos in 360 mode.

Jane,
We're a construction company using DropBox with our clients and need 360 support! These photos are becoming prevalent and expected, and DropBox needs a supported viewer, otherwise we'll need to move to Google Drive.
Is this on your development roadmap, and how soon?

Dropbox doesn't provide such information. We typically won't know about a new feature until it's released or officially announced.

Hi again to everyone following this discussion! I understand that this functionality is important to you; because we take your feedback seriously, I’ve now moved your comment to the Share an Idea section. This way, we can give it a small push, as other users may be interested in using the same functionality & they could also upvote this request by pinching this (👍) button. Thanks again to all for choosing Dropbox & I'm always here in case you'd like to share your thoughts or observations! - DickyChengExplorer | Level 3Hope DropBox could implement this feature as when I having vacation with friends I would love to share the photos with them but there is no preview for 360 degree photo in DropBox what they can see is just a ugly photo. The post is 3 years ago but as 360 degree camera is become cheaper and cheaper and even Facebook support it natively I think it is the time to implement.

I would not count on it. It has been well over a year since this was brought up and they seem to care less. They certainly have the means to do it and I can't see that it would be that difficult. But they obviously do not care about this feature.

Feels like people need to not only comment, but vote this feature up. We also use this in construction and it would be great for Dropbox to implement this feature.

Another vote for this feature! I'm going to have to find an alternative place to host files for our 360 images for clients. Would love to keep everything just on our dropbox.

Not sure why this would not be implemented in dropbox. With all the 360 cameras that are out there that are super affordable (under $100), the rising popularity of VR, this is a no brainer. Like others, if this is not supported soon I would see a big push towards Google Photos that does support 360.

Any timeline for adding the preview of 360 images on Dropbox web or app? This is vital for us in film production as we share 360 images with key stakeholders and executives. Just 360 jpg in line with Google Photos/Drive, FB and theta360.

They have not listened for three years and they’re not going to. They simply do not care. It is not like adding 360 support would be a major ordeal. 360 is now main stream and still continues to grow, but dropbox does not care
