Dropbox Passwords Extension on Chrome

The Passwords extension is not working on Chrome.

  • I've cleared my browsing data, cache, and cookies
  • I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome
  • I've removed and added the extension multiple times, but it fails to successfully connect to my account after it finds my Dropbox account and I give it permission. The webpage times out as well.
  • The extension works fine on Safari, so it's not my account.

This problem started around the time of the last update to the Passwords extension, so I expect that's the problem. Is this an issue Dropbox is aware of and can fix?

Hey ks17, sorry to hear you're having issues with this and thanks for the detailed report.

Can you please clarify the exact version of your browser and send us a screenshot of the page that's timing out for you?

    Thanks!

    browser version:

When I install the extension, it sends me here. Giving approval through the notification on another device doesn't make anything happen, so I try my recovery words. They also don't make anything happen. Then it times out.

This is the timeout I get after a bit:

Hi ks17, as we're not experiencing similar issues, there should be another factor affecting the browser on your end preventing the app from working.

Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
