Dropbox passwords extensions (both for Firefox and Chrome) can't find desktop app on Windows

Today the browsers extensions (both for Firefox and Chrome) stopped detecting the desktop app on my Windows computer (on my Mac it's working as expected).

I reinstalled both the desktop app (version 1.2.40) and the extensions, rebooted the computer, but the extensions still can't find the desktop app.

It was working find yesterday. Any idea?

Thanks!

Hi,

I solved the problem by uninstalling Dropbox Passwords then reinstalled it.

Apparently, the "reinstall" option of the executable is not enough (maybe because it doesn't enforce a reconnection).

I still don't know why this bug happened all of a sudden, but here is how I fixed it.

Thanks for the help anyway. 🙂

The problem still arises sometime with no apparent reason. Even if the reinstall trick is simple it's just boring.

Either Passwords desktop app or the browser extension is behaving incorrectly and this should be investigated by the Dropbox team.
