Why do I have two Dropbox applications on my computer?

Why do I have two Dropbox applications on my computer?

I'm really confused. I now have two Drop Box applications on my computer.  Is there someone (a Drop Box Guru perhaps) who can share my screen and tell me how to merge or eliminate one of the DB applications without the possibility of losing any files?

BTW I'm using a desktop MAC running Ventura

Sorry to see that you're having trouble, @graepers.

Do you mean that you're seeing two different applications or perhaps two different Dropbox folders?

Can you perhaps send us a couple of screenshots showing the behavior you mentioned?

Thanks in advance!

Here are my two screen shots.. Notice the highlighted sections. I don't want to delete one of them for fear of losing data

Thanks for your screenshots, @graepers!

It looks like the Dropbox folder in the first screenshot is your actual Dropbox folder; it has the Dropbox icon and all the files in the folder has sync icons on them.

The folder in the second screenshot that has the date in the name as well, looks like some sort of backup or copy; do these folders have exactly the same files in them?

The second folder won't be syncing to your account, you should be able to confirm this, by dropping a test file into both Dropbox folders.

The first one should sync the test file to your account online.
