Problem:

Worked out of town on my lapotp (Macbook Pro) and sync no problems, came home to my iMac turned it on - nothing synced from this week. Perpetually just "Syncing..." at the bottom of the Dropbox app icon dropdown. I can monitor my network usage and really no data is trying to be pulled from the internet by Dropbox.

Solutions:

I signed out and back in - no luck

I deleted and reinstalled the app - no luck

I checked both are the same App version - they are - still no luck

I tried changing the folders I sync - no luck

Tried fixing permissions - no luck

Tried Fix Hardlinks - no luck

YES to the question I can see the new files on the web login they are synced to Dropbox. My laptop contineius to update Dropbox no issues. My desktop is still outdated from 5 days ago

Any ideas past what I have tried as this all see

Thanks for the update here, @cwo23.

If you're having selective sync conflicts, you can see how you can go about that here.

Other than that, though, is the issue fixed? Is your desktop syncing again?

I am seeing the same issue on all my desktops.  I can take a photo on my cell phone, it does sync that to the Dropbox website but does not download to my desktop.

I followed another post and I tried to unlink all my devices from Dropbox website settings.. then reconnected.  Still did not fix my issue.

Hey @cwo23 and @ngo_shoots! Welcome to the Community.

Can you both let me know what’s the Dropbox app version that you see on the devices that have a syncing issue?

Also, what’s the exact OS version they’re running at the moment?

Keep me updated.

Nancy

Dropbox version 156.4.4908

Mac OS 12.5.1 on both computers

The iMac starting syncing on it's own after a user of a shared folder posted an update. It was a mess though as I had been messing with folders to sync so now littered with selective sync issues all over the place

On selective sync it looks all the folders that are appened with"(Selective Sync)" are duplicate files from the original folders so far. It looks to me that I can just delete all of those?

Hi @cwo23, you can check both the Selective Sync folder, and your normal folder, compare the two and if they have the same info, you can either delete those, or consolidate the files you need from both folders into one of the folders.

I hope this helps.
