Hi

I have unshared a folder in my dropbox and I have made sure that all folders in the folder also is unshared. Nevertheless indicates the folder icon, that the folder is shared.
What can I do about that? Can I just leave it? Will it update "over time"?

Hi @Musicmind, thanks for messaging the Community!

Could you clarify exactly how you unshared the folder?

Did you remove all the users from the folder, or did you unshare it directly?

This will help me to assist further!

I I have actually tried everything. Removed persons with access to the folder, been looking through help files. Then I googled the subject:

Unshare a folder
  1. Log in to dropbox.com.
  2. Hover over the folder you'd like to unshare and click “…” (ellipsis).
  3. Click the share icon (rectangle with an up arrow).
  4. Click Share with Dropbox.
  5. Click the settings icon (gear icon).
  6. Click Unshare folder.
  7. Click Unshare.

But there is NO Unshare button or what so ever! Well I can't see it.

This is what it would look like after step 5, if the folder was shared. If you're not seeing this link to unshare the folder, then the folder isn't shared.

You can also confirm this by looking at the list of all of your shared folders on your Sharing page and seeing if the folder is listed.

Well there is no Unshare button, which brings me back to the question, why does the folder icon indicates that this folder is shared, and why does it appear in the "Shared folder" view??

Hey @Musicmind, are you the owner (creator) or the folder or just a member with edit permissions?

Only the owner of the folder can unshare it.
