Phone keeps disconnecting when syncing photos

Phone keeps disconnecting when syncing photos

Hi everyone!

I have an issue with the automatic upload of my photos from my phone. I used to plug my phone into my computer and it would automatically upload my pictures from my phone into my computer but it hasn't been working for months and I can't find a solution..

The issue is that Dropbox sees that there is photos and videos to sync but it barely starts before it goes "The device was disconnected, 0 photos and videos have been uploaded". Of course I haven't touched my phone, I even tried forcing the screen to stay lit. I checked and the phone is still in "ptp share" so it shouldn't be the issue. I had the issue with my iPhone, I still have the issue with my now Xiaomi phone.

Anyone has an idea? Help please ðŸ˜

Hi @mg95, thanks for posting here today!

The first thing that we need to check in regards to your camera uploads, is the version of the desktop app that you use on your end.

You can find this by locating your Dropbox icon on your task bar, next to your WiFi and hovering your mouse over there. It's a bit odd that both your mobiles face the same issue, are you sure the port you're using on your computer is working?

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

@Megan I tried on both my computer and my laptop and the issue keeps happening. It started years ago, one of your colleagues had tried helping me, without success, and after years of stocking pictures on my phones, hoping for no crash on their ends, I thought I'd try again.. And it's not working, like it didn't before.

My Dropbox app on Desktop is the 170.4.5895
