Delete, edit, and organize
Solve issues with deleting, editing, and organizing files and folders in your Dropbox account with support from the Dropbox Community.
I have a problem. Or atleast question.
I had folders and files in my dropbox account. Folders with pictures, like a lot of pictures.
Last I wisit my dropbox account was 2020 and then there were all my pictures. But at the moment I only can see the folders names but not pictures in there. Where did my pictures went. And how I restore them. Or something?
Cause i was stupid enough not to make copies of them. All my pictures that i had made like 2009- till 2019 all gone.
That makes me sad. So is there any solution?
Hi @EvaTJ, it sounds like it wouldn't be possible to recover the files if they're not visible on the deleted files page. Most likely, at some point, the files were deleted from Dropbox or the machine, and this is why they're not on the site any longer.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Hey @EvaTJ, I'd be happy to help!
Did you use the desktop app to upload pictures, or the website?
Have you checked your deleted files page, or events page by any chance?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Hey,
I used the desktop app to upload pictures. Cause the pictures were in my computer.
And yea i checked my deleted files and everywhere.
Bu cause there have passed allmost two years, when i disscovered that my pictures were lost. So now i don't have a idea how i gonna get those back, or if i ever...
Hey @EvaTJ, thanks for the additional info!
Do you still have access to the desktop app from which you added these files to your Dropbox account? Are you able to see them within the local Dropbox folder there perhaps?
Besides that, is there any chance that you may have two Dropbox accounts under two different email addresses and your photos are saved on the other account?

Hmm, I see what you mean.
Does anyone else have access to these folders perhaps, or are they personal ones?
Were you able to see all of your photos previously on https://www.dropbox.com/home?

Do you remember any filenames perhaps or keywords that may help us investigate further?
I know this is about photos, so it‘s a long shot, but it’s worth a try.
