Dropbox is lying that I am out of storage
My files are no longer syncing with another app due to dropbox incorrectly stating that I am out of storage. I just deleted almost everything (which still wasn't over storage even then) but it didn't help. I only have one folder left, which takes up only 22MB. But Dropbox is lying that I am using 2.08GB out of my allocated 2GB. My account info says all 2.1GB are personal, no shared files at all. Screenshot 1 shows how my only folder is 22MB. Screenshot 2 shows Dropbox lying that I have used up everything.
Anyone know how I can fix this?
Have you deleted your backups at www.dropbox.com/backups ?

Thank you - this was the issue. I had no idea Dropbox had suddenly decided to backup my entire laptop and the UI didn't show it as far as I can tell. Many thanks for the quick resolution!

Dropbox doesn't do this on its own. You either need to go into Preferences and enable it manually, or you inadvertently enabled it during installation by just clicking by the option when it was presented (not opting out).

Hey Jean Chan, I'm sorry to see you're having an issue with your storage.
Can you check the plan tab in your account settings, to see how much usage it reports there?

Using 23.3 GB of 23.25 GB
But i have calculated all my files. It doesn't add up to 23.3Gb

The backup functionality is separate from your cloud storage. The main difference is that your cloud storage syncs data between multiple devices. Data saved through the backup process doesn't sync; it's just stored. You can read more about it here:
