I keep getting notifications that my storage space is used up – but it is not

Hello everybody

After receiving a couple of warnings that my data can no longer be synchronized because of a lack of storage capacity I deleted all insignificant data – including shared folders – so that I now have a free space of 2.7 GB (basic account).

But those notifications with the suggestion to upgrade my account still keep coming in.  Not a new topic to the community but the answers I have seen did not really help ...

Hi @Basinski, thanks for clarifying!

Since your plan page, reports that you're way below your quota, you shouldn't have any syncing issue.

The email might have been a mistake, or the system might need some time to register that you now have enough space to the account. Can you give it a couple of days, keep an eye out and report back to me?

Hey there, @Basinski, I'd be happy to help on my end!

Where are you getting the notifications informing you that you're out of space? Is it via email, or through a notification?

If you could attach a screenshot, that'd be amazing.

Keep me posted!

Hi Megan. Thank you for you quick reply. So I will blissfully ignore further notification and give the system some more time to adapt to the new situation. Take care and best regards from Switzerland, Basinski

Hi -

I have the same problem. When I log into Dropbox.com, it says I have 17 GB of open space. Yet the Dropbox app on my computer says that I am out of space, and it will no longer save or sync files.

Please help -- thanks!

Hi @bbaise, welcome to our Community!

Are you certain that the app is connected to the same Dropbox account as the one you're checking online?

You can double check, by accessing the app's preferences, and then visiting your Account tab. Online, you can see the account by visiting your General settings.

Provided it's the same account, can you try to sign out of the app, then back in, and see if that changes things?

Let me know more!
