Not getting notifications when files are added to folder
As the title says, I'm not getting notifications when a file has been added to a shared folder that I created. I can see that something was added if I view "Sharing activity," but I'm not getting notified. In fact, when I click the bell icon to view my notifications, the last notification I have is from last month... so, if there is sharing activity from 10/17, how come there is no matching notification about a file being uploaded?
I noticed this happening today, when I received an email last night about "Last week's updates in your shared folders." I'm like LAST WEEK????? How come I'm just now seeing this??? (Granted, it was just Thursday when they were added, so it hasn't been a full week, but still...)
File added 10/17 (today is 10/22) and I'm just now finding out that some files were added.
Windows 10
Using the Dropbox app
Attaching screen shots (if this works)
Thank you. I did notice yesterday that I had Windows notifications turned off, so I turned that on and am getting notifications of them being added in my Windows notification sidebar. So that's a workable solution. Just odd that the notifications within the Dropbox app are still from a month ago. 🤔

Hi BriGuyOSC, thanks for posting here today!
I'd like some more time to look into this. Then I'd be happy to get back to you with further details.
Thank you so much!

Just a quick comment on this. What you're seeing there is a digest. It's a once-weekly email notification showing the share activity from the previous week.

Hi BriGuyOSC,
Just a quick follow up.
Did turning on Windows notifications do the trick for you?

Hi, thank you. Yes, turning on the Windows notifications is a workable solution (after manually disabling Windows notifications for other apps that already provide their own notifications; gets to be overkill) -- just odd that the Dropbox app, itself, isn't showing any.

Hi, I also am not receiving the email activity notifications. It's a shared dropbox, I access mostly through the dropbox website, sometimes regualr windows folder. Never the app. All the folders I have checked for file activity alerts and they worked for about a week and now I don't receive them anymore. Nothing changed, notification settings are all on. They aren't coming through as spam. Just not coming at all.

Hey nbonino, if you're accessing and updating the shared folder from the website, it's expected that you don't receive notifications about updates in the folder.
The only email notification you should be receiving is the weekly digest with a summary of the changes in your shared folders.
However, if you use these steps to follow the folder, you should get email notifications for changes in the folder made by other members.
I hope this helps, but let me know if I misunderstood the issue and you need further assistance.

I am following the folders correctly per these steps. The emails aren't being sent.

I was literally about to post the same thing about following the folder on the website (these settings are usually something I set up via the app, but you can also follow it via the website -- took me some trial and error to find it, and it matches what is described in Hannah's link below), but it sounds like you're doing that already.
My only other guess, if you don't want the app or to use the Windows Notification Center (probably requires the app to be installed to push notifications there), is: do you know if your employer/email provider is simply blacklisting the Dropbox email address somehow and not letting the emails through? I know you said they're not coming through as spam, but I'm wondering if a setting is flat out preventing DB emails from coming to you at all. I know some org's that are not allowed to use DB. The shared folder activity emails come from <no-reply@dropbox.com>. Do you know if there is an email rule/setting or a security software setting that is just not letting the emails through?
