Smart Sync Not Showing Up on Windows 11

Smart Sync Not Showing Up on Windows 11

Hi! I am on Windows 11 and have a Dropbox Business account.

The Issue:

I cannot see the option when I right click a file, to Smart Sync > Local  or Online Only

I do see this option on my MacBook Pro.

I did see the option on my PC earlier this week, I do not see it now.

In an effort to troubleshoot my issue, I just install and reinstall Dropbox app on the PC. The problem remains.

The options I see when I right click a file are

Dropbox >

- Share

- View in Dropbox

- Copy Dropbox Link

- Version History

- Send with Dropbox History

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks!

I think this has been solved. For some reason dropbox was not enabled in the task manager, startup section within the menu. I then went to system configuration, “General” tab and selected “Normal Startup”, then “Services” tab and identify if Drop Box is “Running” and enabled that. This followed with a prompt to restarting the PC.

Hi @mamacholina, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you try reinstalling the desktop app, without uninstalling it first, from this page?

Keep me updated with any progress!

Same problem. Had to uninstall and reinstall entirely.

Still have same problem even after uninstall, then install again.

Did you fix your problem?

Hi @paquayC, how are you today?

Can you let me know what you see on your end when right clicking on a file or folder inside your Dropbox folder?

Also, what is the version of the Dropbox app that you have installed to your device? If you hover your mouse over the little Dropbox icon next to your WiFi, that should give you a number.

Let me know more.

Problem fixed, the Smart Sync menu item was hidden, when selecting "view more" in the dropdown right click menu, it appears. Not same behavior as in Win 10

This was the issue for me. After recent Windows 11 updates the option on the context menu you're looking for is "Show More Options." Makes more sense that it should be under the Dropbox menu, but it is not.

That sub-menu no longer exists. The items are now listed on the main context menu as Make available offline and Make online-only.
