The download of a large zip file through a web browser fails. Can you help?

I downgraded my account to free status but I have one large file remaining.  Trying to dowonload it so I can delete it to free up space but keep getting a "zip download fail" message.  Any ideas?

Hi @chinatexan - how are you today?

Based on your description, it sounds like you're trying to download a large folder (not a file) and the browser can't seem to hande this action as it's giving you an error.

How large is the folder in question by the way?

Note that you can download the contents of an entire Dropbox folder via dropbox.com, as long as both of the following are true:

  • The folder is less than 20 GB in total size
  • The folder has fewer than 10,000 total files

If your folder is larger than these thresholds, you'll need to download its content is smaller batches. 

In any case, please keep me posted on your progress!
