Uploaded to shared folder higher than my own quota... how is my file doing?
Hi! I was invited to upload a file to someone through dropbox. They shared a folder with me. I uploaded a 28GB zip file to their folder. I am now told that my own 2GB quota has been exceeded. I...

Easy way to check then is to go to www.dropbox.com/home and see if you can see the file.
You can also then see www.dropbox.com/account which will show your quota and if you are -26gb you know its uploaded :)

Hi!
Yep, I can see the file and I can see that I'm over my quota by the amount mentioned above. My question is whether the recipient will have access to the file while I am in breach of my quota?
Thanks :)

Oh that's good news, thank you!
Do you know if there's an amount of time I can be in breach of my quota before DropBox takes action?

There T&C's state that they can delete things, however, I'm not aware of them ever having done so.

Hi there!
So lemme get this straight: If someone already pays money to have their own account with lots of storage space and I wish to upload something for them there, in THEIR storage space, in THEIR shared folder, and IF the sum of the space that files takes up PLUS the sum of the space of the stuff I own (and don't share) takes up reach a number that exceeds MY quota then I actually CAN NOT upload the file?!???
Because this looks like it is EXACTLY what happened to me. I find that crazy!
