Dropbox Backup
24 TopicsUnlimited cloud backup on Dropbox with a Synology NAS. Is this possible?
Hello all, Apologies for the repost if so but I need help understanding the functionality of the cloud tech and services. My goal is to have an unlimited cloud backup on Dropbox of my Synology NAS archive. Does Dropbox Back-Up support that? Details: I have a Synology NAS 4-bay. I use it for personal archives and some client collaboration (photo and video). I want to use Dropbox for client collaboration instead and reserve Synology for personal archive and backblaze as cloud back-up for the archive (which also includes client work). Mostly because the Synology is currently via wifi and is too slow for collaborating but okay for archive. While making a personal Dropbox account I saw Dropbox Back-up allows unlimited space for backing up. I thought this might be useful and perhaps an alternative to backblaze for the back-ups need (in addition to the personal account for collaboration needs) Then I saw this, "Files on your PC or Mac are continuously backed up to the cloud." Does Dropbox Back-Up support syncing all Synology NAS files with unlimited space or only the local computer and external drive? Is this how this works or am I thinking about this wrong? Edit: Synology has Hyper Backup where you can sync to Dropbox. Do I start there and work back to Dropbox Backup unlimited plan?Solved20KViews0likes5CommentsLogic Pro files disappearing
I got a new macbook (M2) and migrated from my old macbook (2019 intel). Initially I set all of my dropbox folders to online only so I could then manually select what I wanted to keep local. I have always kept my logic projects in dropbox so I never have to worry about backing up. For some reason some logic projects are disappearing from their folders. And when I sync locally they do not appear. Only the audio files, bounces, samples etc. folders remain. If I go to dropbox.com the logic project file is there. But when I download it and try any open it, it says it cant be opened! (See screenshots) I have a bunch of important work that I cannot access. What is happening here?12KViews2likes50CommentsHow to stop the desktop app backing up my pc

I am looking for a third party solution that will backup Dropbox and I have not found any yet. One of the problems I have is that I have more than 8TB of data in Dropbox and I am told that they do not support syncing that much to a local device - therefore, a backup of the local files is not a complete solution. Have you used or heard of anything that I can look into?2.5KViews0likes8CommentsCan't use OneDrive on Mac, my folders are in another cloud service
I tried to synchronise my Mac with OneDrive, then I got this error message. Then I found out that both Desktop and Documents folders are stored in Dropbox like this. I don't have Dropbox application installed on my Mac. I logged in to the Dropbox webpage and checked the sync settings. There was no Mac connected. And under the folder Dropbox on my Mac, I only have these files. How can I fix this problem???2.4KViews0likes5Comments
