Dropbox Transfer
106 TopicsCan't Copy from Dropbox to Google Drive
I'm trying to copy some photos and an InDesign file from a Dropbox folder to a Google Drive folder and am getting an error that says "this file has properties that can't be copied to the new location" and asks me if I'd like to remove those properties and continue or cancel the copy action. I've found quite a few answers online that suspect this is a file system issue (NTFS vs FAT) but those scenarios were always people trying to copy from Dropbox on a local drive to a folder on an external drive. My Dropbox and Google Drive folders are both stored locally on my laptop, so they should both be using the same file system, right? I'm asking this here instead of Google forums because I was able to copy/paste files from a OneDrive folder to Google Drive with no issue, so I'm suspecting it's a Dropbox issue?Solved3.7KViews0likes4CommentsPlease change the "reply-to" email on Dropbox Transfers to the sender and NOT noreply@dropbox.com!
I would think this would have been the logical way to set up emails when you send a Dropbox Transfer to someone, but alas: the current recipient's email when sending a Dropbox Transfer is: from: noreply@dropbox.com Hi "Someone" "Joe" (...@gmail.com) sent sent you a file. It'll be available to download until..... when someone hits REPLY to the email, it replies to noreply@dropbox.com!!???? PLEASE, this makes no sense at all!!! When a recipient hits REPLY, is should NOT reply to noreply@dropbox.com, it SHOULD reply to ...@gmail.com, the sender of the transfer, not the noreply dropbox email. I would think this would be basic logic, the entire premise of sending from a noreply email is to NOT have the recipient automatically reply to that email address! The actual sender's email is in the first line of the email, PLEASE just change the "reply-to" field so that recipients will reply to the SENDER and not noreply@dropbox.com as basic logic would dictate!106Views0likes2CommentsDropbox Transfer on the mobile app
Please add Dropbox transfer access to the mobile app. I expected to be able to access ALL of my files I have on Dropbox from my phone, including those I have to transfer to my clients. Once they pay their invoice, I send them files and I canât do that on my phone anymore since I switched to Dropbox.113Views0likes2CommentsHow to receive large files (around 120 GB) from a client with a free, Basic Dropbox account?
Hello everyone, I need to receive about 120 GB of files from a client via Dropbox. However, I suspect the client might only have a free Dropbox accountâor maybe doesnât have one at all. I know that using the âFile Requestâ feature only allows uploads up to 2 GB per request. Could anyone advise the best way to receive such a large amount of data smoothly under these limitations? Thanks in advance for your help!206Views0likes2CommentsThe new Transfer window animation is S-L-O-W!
The new Transfer Window animation where it animates the files being packaged up in a gift box is unnecessary and is adding sometimes upwards of 15 seconds while I wait for the "copy link" button to be available. This used to be a nearly instantaneous process with no delay. All of my files are already uploaded to dropbox and indicate this with a green check-mark in my dropbox folder on my mac. Then, when I choose "Transfer a Copy", and then click on "Create Link" in the bottom right of the Dropbox Transfer window that opens, I sometimes have to wait 15 seconds for the silly new animation to finish. Why? This aspect of Transfer worked perfectly before. This slow-down in functionality seems un-necessary. Please get rid of the anmiation and just allow us to get quick access to the link so we can copy it and email our clients. Thank you.Solved388Views0likes11CommentsI can't find my file transfers after upgrading my Dropbox account.
I shared five links with a Basic account, all of which were supposed to expire tomorrow (29 April 2025). However I received an email today notifying me that they hadn't been downloaded yet. In response, I upgraded my account to a Standard plan to extend the expiration date. But now, all of the links have disappeared. I can't find them in the bin, the expired section, or anywhere else. Even when I try to open the file by clicking on the 'Manage Transfer' link in the email I received when I originally shared it, I just get an empty transfers page. I'm extremely frustrated and upset. Please help me!119Views0likes3CommentsWhat is the difference between sharing a link or Dropbox Transfer?
What are the exact differences between choosing a folder and sharing the link of that folder to a person who doesnt have Dropbox, or using Dropbox Transfer to send that folder to the same person? Do not suggest me that that person should download Dropbox. He is not allowed to use it in his workplace since they use a different system. I have Dropbox Professional with University of Florida, I am employed there.Solved2.2KViews0likes7Comments
