Dear community, I'm here to advice that the support have been denying us additional space for two weeks, first telling us that there was a momentary problem, then that we had made a request before the 7 days, then again (after waiting 7 days) that there is a problem which however is not written by Nowhere. We're really worried about that because they don't give us any timelines and the fact that the problem doesn't exist on the dropbox status page and that nobody else talks about it seems a bit suspicious. I don't like writing these posts but we are really worried don't you think? Are any of you having similar problems? do they only have it with us?124KViews14likes615Comments"Your dropbox is full" but it isn't
On Mac air with newest OS. I uninstalled the app, checked the hard drive, restarted the computer, barked at the moon, clapped twice and prayed to allah. The problem remains. I refuse to pay to upgrade. I cannot sync additional files.Solved120KViews10likes51CommentsIncorrect dropbox space usage on windows
Hi Guys, My local Windows Dropbox is fully synced with my online Dropbox. Windows Explorer file/properties shows my Dropbox folder is 576 MB but to my surprise, dropbox.com and dropbox app both say my dropbox is full. I have checked the plan tab and found my regular file size is 3.4 GB which is not correct. My shared folder only takes less than 100 MB. What is going on here? Why the discrepancy? Any inputs? Thanks, TaoSolved72KViews3likes675CommentsMy account keeps saying it's full - but it isn't
Hi - I have a 6.3 GB basic account with less that 1.2 GB of data in it, but I keep getting notifications saying the account is full, and it isn't syncing. I've double checked my folders and cleaned out all deleted items, but it makes no difference. I have been unable to contact any sort of support through the website, so am hoping someone might know how to fix this. Thanks.37KViews3likes364CommentsWhy do shared files count against my space use???
Why are files shared with me counted against my space usage? Is this data counted twice? If someone who is sharing files with me is paying for this space, why should I have to pay as well just to access it? I am out of space, I have no intention of buying more space, and yet, when someone shares some files with me, I cannot access them and I am forced to buy space in order to access them. Why is this? Thank you.Solved29KViews4likes144CommentsDropbox says my storage is full, but it is not
I've seen the other forums on this, but I still can't figure out what the problem is. My files are well under my limit, and yet storage is still full. I do not have any backups turned on, and I can't figure out a way to see what is actually eating up storage. Why has dropbox made it impossible to see what is eating up storage so I can delete it? Please help!Solved16KViews0likes10CommentsLost bonus space
I use Basic Dropbox for almost 10 years. During my professional life I recommended dropbox to many colleagues, so I regularly owned an additional 0.5 GB because of that. Moreover, at some moment I bought a Samsung Tablet (10") and because of this purchase I got - from Samsung - an additional 5GB space on dropbox. So, in total my dropbox is about 9GB, from which about 65% is used. I can (could...) still save files on my dropbox, since I still "own" some 2.8GB free space. Then, a few weeks ago I bought a new PC. Old one was getting too slow. New one is HP 2-in-1, core i7, 1Tb SSD and I started installing various software programs on it. Then I added dropbox to it. I was not really amused when I got a notification from the dropbox system that the maximum space that I could occupy is... only 2GB! This is of course not possible, since I already "owned" 9GB. Not all my data has been copied on the new PC, and I am not able to store new data. This does not work. So, I suggested that they (dropbox) provide me again the previous 9GB and allow me to use all not yet used space (35%), just like it was before. No reaction, no comment, ticket closed. "Sorry, no support for Basic Dropbox". Stay away from it.Solved12KViews1like18Comments'Desktop' can't be opened because the original item can't be found.
I have a Mac. I went to use Dropbox to upload some files. I got a message saying I needed to update. I followed all the prompts that popped up and ended up with Dropbox copying or moving my desktop and other files until it was full. When I try to use Finder to access my Desktop is says, "Desktop" can't be opened because the original item can't be found." I found an article that said to go to Preferences within my Dropbox App and choose Finder to access my files, which I did. The problem still remains. Now when I try to open the Dropbox App, it sends me to the online version and I'm stuck. I'm not very tech savvy at all and don't understand a lot of the instructions I've seen online; nor do I really know if the instructions I've found will actually help me or cause more harm. I saw a notification that said if I move anything out of Dropbox, it will be deleted. I cannot risk having my Desktop deleted.Solved11KViews1like25CommentsNew DropBox changes
I have a Basic plan and I am happy. I currently have enough storage. Reading the info about the new plan has left me confused. 1. Since I am happy, if I leave everything alone, will my files continue to be on the DropBox website and on my hard drive? 2. Some posts indicated that their hard drive folders were all duplicated. What is that about? Mine look normal today. 3. Can I continue to use folders on dropbox.com as I have been doing? 4. Clearly DropBox is excited about new services they are offering. Do I have to take any action? If so, what. Hoping that if I do nothing will I maintain my wonderful, perfect, just what I need status quo?Solved11KViews0likes3Comments
