31 TopicsHow sure how to set-up my Dropbox account, on my new mobile in order to see my files.
I know this probably has been asked before, but I have Dropbox on both my phone and laptop. I drowned my phone and the new phone set up via google restore has Dropbox loaded but I don't recognise the interface and cannot figure how to set it it up to see my existing folders and files. All the prompts on the phone interface seem to be upsells or lead to nowhere. I'm signed in but if I click on "Link your desktop" it prompts me to download Dropbox to my computer but I am afraid to do this as Dropbox is already in my computer (as an app? perhaps) and I fear losing my existing folders and files if Dropbox is downloaded (again? to my laptop). Can anyone assist me please? I'm not tech illiterate but cannot figure this one out.99Views0likes2CommentsMy Android photos won't upload to my Dropbox account and now, I can't sign back in either.

Hello, I have all of my dropbox files synced from the cloud to my hard-drive. It's a 2nd drive I have rather than my main drive. I use my own Windows account account. My question is.... can my wife log in via HER Windows user account and also use the same dropbox account and the same files on our '2nd drive'? If she logs into dropbox with the same details as me but via HER Windows user account, can she just point dropbox to the 2nd drive as per me? ie. it wont try and start downloading everything again. Hope that made sense.Solved200Views0likes5CommentsChanging email address in Dropbox Business when sharing a file. Is it normal?
I have noted that if send out a file share to an employee using their company email account and that employee either saves it to his personal dropbox or to either his desktop or documents file which is set in his personal dropbox account to synchronise across his devices and dropbox that the email address for the invite in the business dropbox account changes to his personal email. Is this correct and Normal and are their any security settings that prevent this.74Views0likes1CommentI'm getting an error when trying to share a folder. What is happening?
Hello, I recently uploaded a .mov file into my new dropbox. I copied a link and made sure in the permissions that anyone with the link could view the video. I made sure it worked by opening the link in incognito and on another friend's device. The link worked as intended. However, today, the link says you need to sign in to protect the file. After signing in on a different account, it says you need to request permission to view the file. If I copy the "sharable link" on my original account again, this link works. But I need the older link that worked yesterday, under the SAME permissions, to work and allow anyone with it to view the file. Has anyone had a similar issue?Solved293Views0likes6CommentsStop syncing to a computer I no longer have access to.
Most of my Dropbox files are synced to my home computer. I've recently ended a personal relationship with which some of my Dropbox Folders were Selectively Synced to that person's computer. I can't seem to figure out from my Dropbox Account how and where to go to stop their computer from having access to those selectively synced folders from their computer since I no longer have access to uninstall the desktop App/account on their laptop. Any advice would be helpful.48Views0likes1CommentRemove "Log in or sign up" popup when downloading from a shared link.
This issue has been brought up by many people in discussion posts this year, but there has still been no solution, so I am creating an idea post here: I share view-only download links with my clients almost every day, but when they click the "Download" button, a pop-up box now appears, prompting them to log in or sign up. There is an option at the bottom of the box that says "Or continue with download only," but it is in small text and easily overlooked. As a result, I’ve received many emails from clients asking why they need to sign in to download the files, something they never had to do before. To resolve this, I have to send them screenshots highlighting the option, which is time-consuming and unprofessional. I also end up with some clients creating Dropbox accounts because they think they have to, and then requesting access to join the folder. Additionally, I had a client insist that this option was not available for them and went back and forth with them before I found out that they had their browser zoomed in slightly and the download button was blocked by Dropbox's cookie notice (see image below). I also brought up this cookie issue in my previous post (5 months ago). I have checked it recently and this cookie notice issue has been fixed, but not the popup sign in box. So it sounds like the team has heard our complaints... I have been a loyal Dropbox user for many years, but this new addition to the download process is creating a poor experience for my clients and making me appear unprofessional. While I understand Dropbox might benefit from new sign-ups, this practice feels misleading and unethical. Your business users deserve better than this. I really hope Dropbox can come to its senses and remove this pop-up box entirely.
