The other main cloud storage providers both have spreadsheet editing software. And they apparently no longer support Dropbox. My only option to have a shared spreadsheet stored in the cloud with easy editing ability seems to be to use either Google sheets (with Google drive) or Microsoft Excel (with one drive). Your PDF markup feature is fantastic. Something like that would be great. Hit the edit button and bingo you can enter some data. No downloading or opening in a 3rd party app.Solved366Views0likes10CommentsMy Excel formulas don't show properly on Dropbox.
My team and I work on a shared excel spreadsheet on dropbox. Recently we have had the issue that our formulas do not want to pull through correctly. The formula's solution only loads in when my the page is refreshed. Can someone please advise on how to fix this?1.2KViews0likes14CommentsIssue with linked files when using Adobe Suite on Mac
Dear Dropbox Community, I have a question regarding an issue some of my customers are facing with Dropbox. While many of them are very satisfied with Dropbox’s features, a few have encountered a specific problem when using Adobe InDesign or Illustrator on Mac. The issue arises when they import and use various elements from multiple folders. Initially, this works fine, but problems occur when another team member tries to work on the same file later. The links to the files are lost, and they have to be manually recreated, which is both tedious and time-consuming. It appears that the problem stems from each user having a unique home folder name. Dropbox, unable to locate the identical home folder name, breaks the links. The Dropbox support team suggested two possible solutions: 1. Ensure each computer has a home folder with the same name. 2. Place the Dropbox folder at a higher level than the home folder (such as Macintosh HD or the top level of the user folder). However, I have tried this, and the Dropbox app refuses to create a folder at that level. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what solutions have you found effective? Thank you in advance for your valuable help.1.3KViews0likes4CommentsCan't open documents in native MS Word or Excel apps both on computer and iPad
I used to be able to open Word or Excel documents in Dropbox by clicking the three dots by the filename and choosing "Open in" and selecting "MS Word" or "Excel." Now, on my desktop computer, I can choose only the web-based Word or Excel, and on my iPad, if I choose "Open in" and click Microsoft Word, nothing happens. I have Word and Excel installed on both these devices, and I have a Microsoft 365 subscription. Does anyone know why I am unable to edit my documents any more? Thanks for any help.Solved3KViews0likes6CommentsEditing an Excel file on my iPhone. Is this possible?
Hi, I hope I am asking this question in the right category. If not I am sorry. But my problem is that I have generated an Excel file on my desktop and copied and pasted into my Dropbox. When I open this file in Dropbox on my iPhone I can view, cut and copy the file but I cannot edit it. I have the Excel app installed on my phone, but even using the app the function to edit is not there. Does anybody out there know a solution to this as I am led to believe I should be able to edit this kind of file3.7KViews0likes20CommentsSome Powerpoint Files not Saving using Office Online
Hi, I have a Dropbox 2TB account user who is sharing their files with some users so they can edit the files and save them in the web using the Office 365 integration. The users have noticed that some files (.pptx) that they are editing (approx 250MB powerpoint files - well within the 2GB limit) are not saving the changes they make, even when clicking on the save and return to folder button. I have had the same folders shared to me and i experience the same. We can create new powerpoint files in there and edit them online without issue. We all have A5 MS accounts and i have removed the Office integration from my account and re-added it - no difference. This is not a caching issue either as it's happening on multiple computers. If i install the dropbox client and sync the files locally i can edit the files fine and they will update on dropbox.com. But i still can't edit these updated files on dropbox.com using powerpoint for web even after doing that. If i put the file on my OneDrive account and open the files from OneDrive online they will open in Powerpoint Online and any changes i make are instantly saved. Thanks RichardSolved4.4KViews0likes7CommentsAutosave Function for Office Suite
Request for an autosave function for office suite that enables saving in the documents source location, instead of being limited to saving on One Drive. Our team uses Dropbox as our hub, and are lacking in the autosave function that we get with the Google Workspace suite.1.1KViews1like4CommentsIs it possible to directly open a file with Google Doc
For now, on Mac, there is an option "View on dropbox.com". I'm wondering if there is any workaround such that I can directly open docx files with Google Doc. I understand that I can create GDocs on dropbox, but I do not want to deal with the access permission issues, and I just want to edit the file with GDoc rather than creating a GDoc file. I have tried to play around with the url, but it didn't work. Any help / idea is appreciated.4.4KViews0likes6Comments
