Thank you for being a valued Dropbox Capture user. After careful consideration, weâve decided to discontinue Dropbox Capture on March 24th. Please note that youâll still be able to use the screenshot tool through the Dropbox desktop app. After March 24th, you will no longer be able to create new screen recordings, audio clips, GIFs, or videos using Capture. The Capture desktop appâand Capture via web accessâwill no longer be available. Good news: Weâre continuing to add new screenshot functionality within the Desktop app. On March 24th, you will be able to use the screenshot tool to capture the exact part of the screen you want to send. You will be able to add extra emphasis to your screenshots with text, shapes, drawings, and arrows. We understand that your content is important, so know that you will not be losing any of your existing Capture images and videos. Welcome to the Dropbox Community forum! We're thrilled to have you on board, and we want to make sure you get the most out of your Dropbox experience right from the start. Today, we're going to talk about Selective Sync. What is Selective Sync? Well, selective sync is a feature in the Dropbox desktop app that allows you to remove specific Dropbox folders from your hard drive so you can save space on your computer. You can remove the Dropbox folders from your computer without deleting files; the folders you remove from your hard drive remain stored in your account on dropbox.com How to use selective sync Note: To use selective sync, youâll need to have the Dropbox desktop app installed on your device. To choose which Dropbox folders to store on or remove from your computerâs hard drive: Open your Dropbox desktop app preferences. Click the Dropbox icon in your taskbar. Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the top-right corner. Click Preferences. Click the Sync tab. Under Selective Sync (Windows), click Modify or Select folders to sync to this Mac (Mac), click Modify. Check the folders youâd like saved on your hard drive. Uncheck the folders youâd like removed. Click Update. What is the difference between selective sync and online-only? Making your files and folders online-only also helps save hard drive space. These files and folders will still be visible from your computer, but are stored in your Dropbox account online. Based on how you use certain files and folders, they can automatically be set to online-only. That's it! Now you can save valuable space for things that matter most to you, and learn how other Dropbox features can improve your day too! So, what do you want to see from us? After spending almost an entire week with Dropbox tech support, uninstalling, re-installing, cleaning registries, running command scripts, MULTIPLE TIMES... We were getting nowhere. So, I did some serious research on the web looking for ways to locate and fix Windows Right-Click "Context Menus". I found a utility called ShellExView by Nirsoft. Which pointed to another page ( fix-slow-right-click-crashes-shell-extensions ) with some more explanation on how to use it. Apparently, the problem was that, for some strange reason, as you can see in the screenshot below, the Dropbox âContextMenuHandler Classâ was marked as âDisabledâ. I simply did a Right-Clickover it, and selected to âEnable selected itemsâ. Then re-started Explorer using ShellExView's Ctrl+E option to restart the Windows shell. Please NOTE... Restarting the Explorer shell is an essential step. This should NOT be skipped. And⊠VOILA!!! After a few seconds... ALL of the Dropbox Context Menu items magically now appear!!! For FOLDERS, it shows like this: And for FILES, it looks like this: Hope this helps! All the best, JacobJacobRusso3 years agoCollaborator | Level 85.8KViews0likes14Comments
