Android app v 302.2.2 has no download or export function?
I am on Android S22+ and there is not an option to EXPORT (or download) on any file - not even just one file. I can only email a LINK to someone which is not acceptable. All I see online is instruction to select "export" and that is not valid on this particular device or app version (302.2.2). Please instruct on how to download - I am on a paid account and not being able to download in the app is unacceptable considering every other cloud app allows for downloads.
I did uninstall and reinstall - I did now find a menu for these things! If I "select" (by press and hold) a file THEN select the ellipsis (not opening the file) then I now get:
Save to Device, Export, Duplicate, Move, Delete
The problem with this method is that unless you know the file name, on a mobile device, the thumbnail is so tiny and all of this only shows up as options on the thumbnail/list page, NOT once you open the file. Kind of a PITA but at least now I found it. SHEESH
Would be nice to open a file and think - yes, download and have it be there but instead you have to open, back out, then press and hold to select then click the ellipsis that appears.
I believe case closed.

Hi lisamdun, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you try tapping the Share option and see if the option to export is there?
Just for clarification, is this occurring on files, and not folders?
This will help me to assist further!
- lisamdun3 years agoHelpful | Level 6When I click share with one file open (not folder, one FILE) it only let's me share link. I don't see a way on this forum to share a screen shot. I want to save a file, photo, anything on my account to my mobile device. One at a time is ok, not folders.

When you tap the ellipsis next to a file in the Dropbox mobile app, could you list all the options available to that file in the main context menu that appears?

When I click the vertical "..." (ellipsis) it give me:
copy link
share
manage access
When I click the share in that mode it only offers to "send to email, name or group" or
it offers to "create a link"
That is all.

Is this file in a shared folder or a private folder?
Are you viewing this file from the list, or only while the file is open?

I have tried both - a shared folder file and a private folder file.
I have tried both ways to share - from the list and with the item open both offer same options as stated.

Hey lisamdun, sorry to jump in here.
Besides the options you mentioned above (copy link/share/manage access), you should also be seeing other buttons (like “Export”, “Rename”, “Move” etc).
When clicking on the ellipsis button that Jay mentioned, are you able to scroll down the pop-up menu? These options should be showing there.

There is nothing besides what I mentioned. No ability to scroll any further either. Just email a link or create a link. Maybe I will uninstall from my mobile device and re-install and see if that helps since it seems like everyone else has these options, except me!
