Welcome to our Community, accessparksSteve!
Is this happening for all Word/Excel files that are stored on your Dropbox account?
Can you also send me a screenshot of the error you keep receiving?
Finally, are you opening your files via your Dropbox account online or locally on your computer?
Let me know when you’re ready.

Thank you so much for your quick reply.

-- Yes, that is correct all excel and word docs. I can pull up and view from the folder they are in but when I go to Open In "excel for the web" or "Word for the web" it gives me the error.
Can you also send me a screenshot of the error you keep receiving?
This is the screen shot.
Finally, are you opening your files via your Dropbox account online or locally on your computer?
its via my account online (Dropbox. Com)
Let me know when you’re ready.

Thanks for the additional details! Since this is happening on the website, can you clarify what’s the current browser you’re using, and try a different one?
Incognito mode on your current browser is also a good way to check if the issue is browser-related, or if there’s something else possibly going on.

No problem at all! DuckDuckGo is a search engine (like Google, for example), so your browser should be different (Chrome, Safari, Firefox etc).
If you try another browser and the issue persists, feel free to send me a screenshot of what you see on your current browser, and I'll try to guide you on how to find the private window.

Hey accessparksSteve - sorry to jump in here, but could you clarify if you're using an individual account or if you're part of a team account instead?
If it's the latter, are you an admin or a member of the team? Could it be that the team's admin has restricted access to the Microsoft Office integration somehow?

Thanks for jumping in. I need all the help i can get. I am part of a team account. I have reached out to our admin and he has not been able to find a root cause.

Thanks for the additional information accessparksSteve
Could you have a look at your connected apps tab and let me know if you see the Microsoft Office Online option there? If you do, can you try disconnecting it and re-connecting it to your account anew?

I do and have shared a screen shot. I disconnected and now dont know how to reconnect. it disappeared
