when looking into file properties from all (many) files:
- the change date did not change
- the last access was on the day of dropbox update (even for files I can garantie that I didnt open them for several month/nor looked into their folder)

just an idea with the observation named above:
was there a change in beta on a not that visible topic, e.g. how file pathes were handeled?
-> Or any other thing that does not change the "last change date" of a file
but modify some (meta) properties which does not lead to change of the "last change date" of the files?
Maybe the introduction of the new state symbols may make such a (tiny) change?
A thing that is not reverted when installing a non beta version again?

Thanks for the update here, Martin.
Hmm, the thing here is that if the Dropbox application is completely closed and the issue persists, it doesn't sound like the issue is Dropbox related.
It might sound unimportant, but have you restarted the computer at all ever since this started happening?
