Change view settings in Android app?

So my Android app apparently just updated, and...ew. The recents/starred page I rely on is all thumbnails now, doesn't even display edit times.   Is there a way to view it similar to the old form...

The view all option makes no sense to me, either. This week...today...this week...today...why not group them all together, or not at all?

    It gets even more frustrating. When I go to view all my starred items since the recents page is hopelessly muddled, they aren't in alphabetical order OR the most recently modified order...it makes no sense. I have an item edited yesterday way below an item edited 2yrs ago. How am I supposed to easily find my most recently edited starred items? There's no longer any sorting option.
