How can I sync my desktop with the Dropbox app on my iPhone 13?
HOW CAN I SYNC MY DESKTOP DROPBOX WITH MY IPHONE 13? On my desktop dropbox I use OpenOffice Calc and I don't have this on my iPhone. At one time I was able to do this, and I don't know why I can't now. I've searched and read articles online but I'm not the most literate compute person! Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi lvdw55, welcome to our Community!
Just to clarify: do you wish to sync your desktop as a path, or you're talking about your device?
I'm not entirely certain as to what you wish to achieve here, and I'd like some more info, before I can help you and guide you. Can you give me some additional details?
Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for your reply. I want to be able to access my dropbox that I currently have on my desktop, on my iPhone and want it to sync with the changes I make on my desktop. I had this capability previously and don't know what happened that I no longer do. I use the OpenOffice calc program on my desktop, thinking this might be why I can't sync this to my iPhone? Thanks for your help.

Hey lvdw55 - sorry to jump in here, but could you clarify if you have both the Dropbox desktop app and the Dropbox mobile app installed on your devices?
If you'd like to sync files from your desktop to your mobile device, you should copy or move them into your Dropbox folder and work from there while the desktop app syncs your changes.
in any case, please let us know more and we'll take it from there.

Hey lvdw55, can you let us know a bit more about why these two devices are not syncing with each other, granted they're both linked to the same Dropbox account?
Do the changes you make to your files on the computer, sync with your account on dropbox.com?

Sorry, I'm totally lost! I can't even get my files/folders on my iPhone. I'm starting to believe I may not be going through Dropbox? My spreadsheet on my desktop shows it's on OpenOffice Calc but on Dropbox? I'm totally lost, about to surrender and just keep the desktop working!

I understand this can be a bit overwhelming, but no need to worry, lvdw55, we'll get to the bottom of this!
You mentioned that you want to access the files that are currently in your desktop Dropbox from your phone and to have them sync with each other, right?
For this to happen, you need to have the Dropbox desktop app installed on your desktop, the Dropbox mobile app installed on your phone and to have both apps signed into the same Dropbox account.
Do you know if that's the case?

I have the files now on both my desktop and iPhone, however I'm unable to edit them on either. I was editing them on my desktop (didn't have them on iPhone) but I was doing it through OpenOffice and was unable to get them to my iPhone with OpenOffice. Thanks for your patience.

Hi from me as well, @lvdw55!
What do you see now on your desktop app, when trying to edit your files with OpenOffice?
As for your iPhone, if OpenOffice isn't available to be installed there, you'll need to find another third party app instead in order to edit those files on your mobile device.
After that, you can open your Dropbox mobile app, locate the file you'd like to edit, click on the 3 dots next to it and select "Open in" to open it with the third party app of your choice.

I think I got it. Thanks to all for your patience and replies.
